Aspects of the present disclosure involve a system and a method for performing operations comprising: detecting physical touch of a touch-sensitive component on a back portion of a client device, the client device displaying a graphical user interface on a touch-sensitive display screen of a front portion of the client device; in response to detecting the physical touch, transmitting an electrical signal representing the physical touch of the touch-sensitive component on the back portion of the client device to the touch-sensitive display screen of the front portion of the client device; and causing an operation associated with the graphical user interface to be executed in response to the touch-sensitive display screen receiving the electrical signal representing the physical touch of the touch-sensitive component on the back portion of the client device.

WEARABLE FINGER TAP DETECTION SYSTEM WITH LOW POWER MODE
20210342002 · 2021-11-04 ·

A method of controlling a wearable tap detection system having a processor and a plurality of sensors for detecting contact by one or more fingers against a surface, including at least one mechanical sensor, includes detecting, as a tap event, a signal from the at least one mechanical sensor that exceeds a predetermined threshold. When the tap event is detected, the processor is switched from a first power mode to a second power mode, the second power mode using more power than the first power mode. Then, using the processor in the second power mode, processing of one or more signals from the plurality of sensors is performed to generate processed signal data. After the processed signal data is generated, the processor is switched from the second power mode to the first power mode. Then, while in the first power mode that uses less power, the processor analyzes the processed signal data to determine one of a character or a command that corresponds to the fingers that contacted the surface at the time of the tap event.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ENTERING LOGOGRAMS INTO AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE
20230315217 · 2023-10-05 ·

A text entry apparatus for entering characters of a logographic character set on an electronic device such as a smartphone comprises a user interface having a plurality of discrete virtual or actual strings made contact regions which can be arranged in rows, the interface being configured to generate an intermediate signal each time a user contacts a contact region with at least one finger or thumb, the value of the intermediate signal being dependent on the type of contact made by the finger or thumb on the contact region and a processing circuit which is configured to receive a temporal sequence of intermediate signals and from the values of the intermediate signals in the sequence generate a corresponding temporal sequence of fundamental strokes in which each value of each intermediate signal is mapped to a fundamental stroke, each fundamental stroke being a part of the characters of the logographic character set. The user can interact with the apparatus in a very natural and easy to learn way, similar to playing a traditional stringed instrument.

Reducing keystrokes required for inputting characters of Indic languages
11526215 · 2022-12-13 ·

An aspect of the present disclosure provides for determining characters inputted. In an embodiment, a key activated among one or more keys of a keyboard and a sensor activated among one or more sensors associated with one or more fingers are identified. An element or a special function corresponding to the key activated and an element or a special function corresponding to the sensor activated are determined. A character is determined based on the element or the special function corresponding to the key activated and the element or the special function corresponding to the sensor activated. A first set of elements of an Indic language and a first set of special functions are assigned to the one or more keys of the keyboard, and a second set of elements of the Indic language and a second set of special functions are assigned to the one or more sensors.

A data entry system comprises a processor configured to receive a first data entry, make a first determination whether the first data entry is a first character entry or a first chorded entry, select a first output based on the first determination, and transmit the first output. The processor is further configured to receive, after transmitting the first output, a second data entry; make a second determination whether the second data entry is a second character entry or a second chorded entry; select a second output based on the second determination; and transmit the second output. The first data entry is the first character entry and the second data entry is the second chorded entry, or the first data entry is the first chorded entry and the second data entry is the second character entry.

Keyboard having remapping and administrative functions
11151061 · 2021-10-19 · ·

A keyboard includes a communication module configured to communicatively couple the keyboard to a host computer. The keyboard includes a plurality of keys that are configured to be physically actuated by a user. The plurality of keys can be remapped such that a signal transmitted to the host for a specific key can be changed to a different signal corresponding to a different key. The keyboard can also include an administrative mode that can be accessed in response to the user depressing a series of predetermined keys. While in the administrative mode the user can reconfigure keyboard settings, access debug functions of the keyboard and/or reset memory locations.
