A character input device, method, or stored program, may involve performing operations including acquiring one or more conversion candidates for a character string input to the character input device, a detector detecting selection of a conversion candidate, confirming, as a first character string of the input character string, and acquiring one or more follow-up candidates that follow the first character string. As the one or more follow-up candidates, a character string or strings representing a state of an event related to the confirmed first character string, may be acquired. The detector may receive selection of an acquired follow-up candidate. The follow-up candidate whose selection is received by the detector may be confirmed as a new second character string that has continuity with the first character string last confirmed.

A method and apparatus for selecting items from a collection of items are indexed by a list of item identifiers. The item identifiers may be in the form of text, symbols, graphics, etc. An initial display is generated which includes one or more parts of the item identifiers. Selection of the one or more parts may be made and results in the generation of a display of further one or more parts for selection. The further one or more parts may be selected in order to the selected one or more parts to build a larger part or whole of an item identifier. Accordingly, selection from a large list of item identifiers may be carried out in a relatively short time period.

A system to facilitate communication in English uses a keyboard having at least one phoneme key that displays a phonetic pronunciation symbol that represent sounds of spoken English. The system also includes a computer board disposed within the keyboard and a processor and associated memory in electrical communication with an input from the phoneme key. The processor executes a set of computer instructions that bi-directionally translates the input as a standard English letter to a phonetic pronunciation or from a phonetic input to a standard English letter. An output device in electrical communication with the keyboard wherein the standard English letter is displayed is also provided. In one embodiment, a computing device configured to execute a set of computer instructions is provided that display a digitally produced keyboard for display that uses a downloadable APP to translate between a phonetic input and a standard English letter and displays a result.

A method and a device for adding an emoji, an apparatus and a storage medium are provided. When a second user replies to a target message with an emoji in a first session interface, the first user may trigger an emoji addition instruction for the emoji, and the emoji is added to an emoji input candidate box of the first user. With the method for adding the emoji according to embodiments, the emoji replied to the target message by the second user can be added to the emoji input candidate box of the first user, which can increase emojis in the emoji input candidate box of the first user, and meet the requirements of the first user sending various emojis.

In some embodiments, a device determines a current context of a plurality of terms, in accordance with a determination that the current context is a first context, selects one or more terms in the plurality of terms based on a first word list as actionable terms, and in accordance with a determination that the current context is a second context, different from the first context, selects one or more terms in the plurality of terms as actionable terms based on a second word list, different from the first word list. In some embodiments, the device displays the plurality of terms, wherein one or more of the actionable terms are visually distinguished from other terms. In some embodiments, a device obtains related content associated with the actionable terms, and after obtaining the related content, concurrently displays a representation of the related content along with the plurality of terms.

Provided is a device including a memory storing information about sequences of a plurality of registered words; an input unit comprising input circuitry configured to receive an input of a text comprising a first eojeol not belonging to the plurality of registered words, wherein, in the first eojeol, a first word is attached to a first registered word that belongs to the plurality of registered words; and a controller configured to detect the first registered word from the first eojeol, to determine a predicted eojeol to be input after the text, based on the information about the sequences of the plurality of registered words and the detected first registered word and to control a display to display the predicted eojeol.

According to an embodiment, an information processing apparatus includes an image interface, an input interface, a display interface, a manipulation interface, a storage unit, and a processor. The processor is configured to cause a display terminal through a display interface to display a screen so as to receive an input of a key through the manipulation interface; transmit an operation signal indicating the key to the one of external devices through the input interface; and when the key is a repeat key, transmit an operation signal for inputting a character string indicated by repeat information to the one of the external devices through the input interface.

A character input device according to one or more embodiments may include: an output unit configured to output a first character string to an application program having a suggestion function; a detector configured to detect selection of a second character string that is presented in correspondence with the first character string by the application program; and a registration unit configured to register, in a dictionary database, the second character string that is detected, by the detector, to have been selected.

A method includes detecting a touch input by a user at a position on a virtual keyboard. The method further includes applying a spatial model to map the touch input to one or more first candidate keys of the virtual keyboard, wherein the spatial model maps the touch input to the one or more first candidate keys based on a heatmap of prior touch inputs by the user. The method further includes applying a language model to map the touch input to one or more second candidate keys of the virtual keyboard, wherein the language model maps the touch input to the one or more second candidate keys based on comparing the position of the touch input to one or more predicted next keys. The method further includes selecting a particular key of the one or more first and second candidate keys as indicated by the touch input.

An electronic device is described which has a user interface which receives an input comprising a sequence of target indicators of data items. The data entry system has a search component which searches for candidate expanded sequences of indicators comprising the target indicators. The search component searches amongst indicators generated by a trained conditional language model, the conditional language model having been trained using pairs, each individual pair comprising a sequence of indicators and a corresponding expanded sequence of indicators.
