An optical navigation device, comprising: an optical sensor, configured to sense optical data; and a processing circuit, configured to compute motions of the optical navigation device based on the optical data, and configured to output the motions, wherein a first CPI is set to the processing circuit. The processing circuit receives a calibration command to calibrate the first CPI to a second CPI, wherein the second CPI is computed via following steps: (a) computing a real CPI corresponding to times of motions output by the processing circuit during a time interval that a relative displacement between the optical navigation device and a surface reaches a first predetermined distance; (b) computing a ratio between the real CPI and the first CPI or a difference between the real CPI and the first CPI; and (c) generating the second CPI based on the ratio or the difference.

Touch-sensing system including a touch-sensitive paper

A touch sensing system is configured to determine a state of a paper material indicative of a touch input on the paper material. The actions include receiving one or more values of features representing physical properties of a paper material. The system generates, by a pair of electrodes in a conductive material that is electrically connected with the paper material, an electric field in the conductive material. The paper material is configured to shunt current from the conductive material when the paper material is touched. The system measures the electric field in the conductive material in the conductive material. The system generates an approximation of the electric field in the conductive material. The system determines with a classifier a state of the paper material indicative of a touch input on the paper material.

SMART PEN AND A DISPLAY DEVICE USING THE SAME

A smart pen including: a body part; a nib part at an end of the body part; a code detection unit for receiving light reflected from a display panel and the nib part, wherein the light reflected from the display panel and the nib part is used to detect shape data for code patterns of the display panel; and a code processor for generating coordinate data based on the shape data and transmitting the coordinate data to a main processor for driving the display panel based on the coordinate data.

A method for improving spatial awareness of a user during drawing includes obtaining, using one or more sensors, position information of a drawing instrument relative to a drawing canvas. The method includes determining, using one or more processors, a first vibration intensity when the drawing instrument is within a first region of the drawing canvas based on the obtained position information. The method includes determining, using the one or more processors, a second vibration intensity when the drawing instrument is within a second region of the drawing canvas based on the obtained position information. The second vibration intensity can be larger than the first vibration intensity and the second region can be distinct from the first region. The method includes generating, by a sensory device, a vibration based on one or both of the first vibration intensity or the second vibration intensity.
