Digital Cursor Display Linked to a Smart Pen

A system and a method are disclosed for calibrating writing on a writing surface to a digital document. One or more calibration parameters associated with a writing surface and a digital document of a display device are determined. The calibration parameters indicate a spatial offset between a reference position on the writing surface and a reference position in the digital document. A gesture captured by a smart pen is received. The gesture includes a sequence of spatial positions representing movement of the smart pen with respect to the writing surface. The sequence of spatial positions is mapped to a sequence of spatial positions in the digital document based on the calibration parameters.

MEASURING AND CORRECTING OPTICAL MISALIGNMENT

A system includes a calibration plate with fiducial markers, a device under test interface, an alignment stage with a rotary sub-stage and a linear sub-stage, and a camera on the alignment stage.

OPERATION DEVICE FOR LINK ACTUATING DEVICE

An operation device for a link actuating device (51) is provided with a target value input unit (57) having a height direction target value input portion (57z) that allows input of a movement amount in a height direction or a coordinate position in the height direction, which causes the distal end posture of the link actuating device (51) to be changed only in the height direction along a central axis of a proximal end side link hub (12). Input converter (58) is provided to calculate, by using an inputted value, a target distal end posture of the link actuating device (51). The Input converter (58) further calculates a command operation amount of each actuator (53) from the result of the calculation, and inputs the command operation amount to the control device (54).

OPTICAL MEMBER AND IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE INCLUDING OPTICAL MEMBER

Provided is an optical member including: a substrate; and a dot that is in contact with a surface of the substrate, in which the dot is formed of a liquid crystal material having a cholesteric structure, four or more dots form one recognition effective region as an aggregate, and a shortest inter-end distance between one arbitrary dot and at least two other dots in the recognition effective region is 10 μm or less. in the optical member, even when a dot pattern is observed in an oblique direction, retroreflection properties are exhibited and the intensity of reflected light is high. By using the optical member according to the present invention, an image display device having a high data input sensitivity can be provided.

OPTICAL MEMBER AND IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE INCLUDING OPTICAL MEMBER

Provided is an optical member including: a substrate; and a dot that is in contact with a surface of the substrate, in which the dot is formed of a liquid crystal material having a cholesteric structure, and the dot exhibits wavelength selective reflecting properties having two or more reflection peaks. By using the optical member according to the present invention, an image display device in which erroneous detection of data input is reduced can be provided.

DISPLAY INCLUDING HOT MIRROR

An apparatus includes a display stack comprising at least one layer to generate a digital display image. A front stack includes a position encoded contrast layer to provide a pattern of light in response to non-visible light applied to the position encoded contrast layer. The pattern of light encodes spatial information across a surface of the position encoded contrast layer. A hot mirror reflects the non-visible light applied to the position encoded contrast layer of the front stack and is optically transparent to visible light generated from the display stack.

Stylus with active color display/select for touch sensitive devices

Styluses with active color indicator functionality are disclosed. The styluses are intended for use with a touch sensitive device. The active color generally refers to the color currently in use by the touch sensitive device, such as in a virtual drawing or note taking application. Active colors can be selected using the touch sensitive device and/or the stylus itself. When the active color is selected using the touch sensitive device, the stylus receives the active color information and indicates the color on the stylus (e.g., via a correspondingly colored LED or LCD or a color rotation mechanism). When the active color is selected from the stylus itself, that color is indicated on the stylus and active color information is transmitted to the touch sensitive device. The active color can be displayed such that it is detectable regardless of stylus position (e.g., no blind spots).

Multi-axis self-location method and apparatus wherein de Bruijn sequences on 2 or more axes are convolved into an array of symbols such as halftone dots to form a reference scale. The position of an imaging device such as a camera relative to the reference scale is ascertained from the captured camera image by bit-wise reconstitution of axis position codes with simple, predominantly linear operations over small neighbourhoods. Judicious choice of differential coding, LFSR generator polynomials, mathematical operators, and deconvolution kernels enables code digits of an axis to be regenerated while simultaneously cancelling out the contributions of other axes. Also optionally provided are uniform DC-balanced variants yielding greatly improved position interpolation, isometric implementations decodable from high-aspect-ratio sample windows, robust concatenated error correction, and extensions into n-space.
