INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to acquire an original image and multiple outline coordinate pairs of an outline of a region to be cut out from the original image and to control display in an image display area to superimpose an image of the outline onto a portion of the original image so that pixels that correspond to the multiple outline coordinate pairs consecutively appear in a central region of the image display area in clockwise or counterclockwise order.
Latency and preemptive detection for an input device
Some embodiments related to an input device with a hybrid switch coupled to a depressible element. The hybrid switch can include a first and second switch with both switches configured to activate in response to a depressible element being pressed by a user. In some aspects, the hybrid switch architecture can be used to introduce an interrupt signal when the depressible element is pressed by a threshold distance (thereby generating event data) to ensure that a periodic input device report includes the event data regardless of when a periodic switch status check is performed. In further embodiments, the hybrid switch architecture can be used to calibrate the input device and set a reliable preemptive activation threshold that cause the input device to generate event data.
ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT
A mouse as an example of an electronic equipment can be used in medical settings and includes a housing that can be gripped by a hand, a substrate which is arranged in a space in the housing and on which an electronic circuit component for calculating a state of the mouse is mounted, and an optical element (lens) which is arranged in a part of a bottom portion (housing bottom portion) of the housing and through which image light from outside enters. The optical element and the electronic circuit component are connected by a transmission unit capable of transmitting the image light. The substrate is arranged so as to be separated from the housing bottom portion upward in a Z direction by a distance between a lower surface of the housing bottom portion and a lower surface of the electronic circuit component in the Z direction and/or by a distance between an upper surface of the housing bottom portion and a lower surface of the substrate in the Z direction. For example, an optical fiber is used as the transmission unit.
Input placement control guidance on a display
A method, computer program product, and a system where a processor(s) of a computing device identifies at least two displays coupled to the processor(s) to render visual objects to a user of the computing device, like a cursor, and processor(s) obtains instructions to render the cursor in various locations on the displays via an input device. The processor(s) obtain a display layout for the displays and resolutions of displays and generates an initial virtual desktop that includes physical real estate of the displays where the processor(s) renders visual objects. The processor(s) obtains a request and generates a simulacrum of the displays, in virtual space. The processor(s) displays, on a portion of the virtual desktop, the simulacrum. The processor(s) obtains, via the input device, a selection of a location on the simulacrum and automatically moves the cursor to a location on the virtual desktop that corresponds to the selected location.
Input device, system, and method
An input device including first sensor that measures first sensor data indicative of at least one of: pressure applied to input device, presence or absence of given object in proximity of input device, distance of given object from input device, position and orientation of input device; and processor coupled to first sensor. Processor processes first sensor data to determine state of input device, said state indicating whether or not input device is lying on given object; obtains, from user device, context information pertaining to visual scene being presented to user; and controls input device to operate in first mode of operation or second mode of operation based on said state and context information. Input device acts as computer mouse during first mode of operation and as six-degrees-of-freedom controller during second mode of operation.
Optical device and locus smoothing method thereof
There is provided an optical navigation device including an image sensor, a processing unit, a storage unit and an output unit. The image sensor is configured to successively capture images. The processing unit is configured to calculate a current displacement according to the images and to compare the current displacement or an accumulated displacement with a threshold so as to determine an outputted displacement. The storage unit is configured to save the accumulated displacement. The output unit is configured to output the outputted displacement with a report rate.
Wireless devices with flexible monitors and keyboards
A portable device (e.g., a wireless device such as a cell phone) is provided with a flexible keyboard and a flexible display screen. Such flexible components may be stored in the housing of the portable device when not in use. The flexible display screen and flexible keyboard may be expanded from the housing when the flexible components are utilized by a user. Non-flexible display and input components may be provided on the exterior of the portable device such that the device may be used, in some form, while the flexible components are stored. In one embodiment, a portion of the flexible display (or flexible keyboard) may be utilized when the flexible display (or flexible keyboard) is stored in said first housing.
Pen-shaped folding mouse
A pen-shaped folding mouse includes a scroll wheel, two supporting shafts, two rod bodies, two buttons, and an optical sensor. The scroll wheel has an axis line. The two supporting shafts are disposed on two opposite sides of the scroll wheel and are parallel to the axis line. The two rod bodies are located on the two opposite sides of the scroll wheel and are movably disposed on the two supporting shafts. The two rod bodies include two outer surfaces and two first end surfaces close to each other. The two buttons are disposed on the two outer surfaces of the two rod bodies. The optical sensor is located on the outer surface of one of the rod bodies.
Trackballs
A trackball includes a ball, a housing including a recess arranged to receive at least part of the ball and means for urging the ball, without physical or direct contact, to remain in the recess, wherein the surface of the recess is fully sealed to form an impenetrable barrier such that foreign substances are prevented from entering the interior of the housing. This arrangement may make the trackball more hygienic to use and easier to clean than conventional trackballs.
Three-dimensional input device
An input device may include at least one touch surface arranged in a three-dimensional (3D) shape wherein the at least one touch surface receives translational and rotational input along three spatial axes. A six degree-of-freedom (6DOF) input system may include at least one touch registering surface formed into a 3D shape to detect an interactive touch from a user and a processor to receive the interactive touch and adjust the position of a three-dimensional (3D) object represented in 3D space on a graphical user interface (GUI).
