Method, system and computer program product for obtaining and displaying supplemental data about a displayed movie, show, event or video game
Method, system and computer program product for providing additional information to a handheld device (HHD) about a displayed point of interest in video programming displayed on a multimedia display. A image of the video programming captured by a HHD camera can be used at a remote server to identify the video programming by matching it with archived programming. If identified, additional information related to the video programming can be obtained/provided. A region within a particular frame of displayed video programming can be selected at the HHD to access additional information about a point of interest associated with the region. The additional information can be displayed on the HHD or a secondary display, in response to selecting the region to access the additional information from a remote server.
System and method for expanding a canvas
Various systems and methods for selectively expanding a digital canvas are described. A slice line having a begin point and an end point may be defined within the digital canvas. The canvas may then be selectively expanded by moving drawing or other elements that project on slice line in a selected direction.
Input device with self-mixing interferometry sensors
Self-mixing interferometry (SMI) sensors can be used for generation of content using an input device without requiring a touch-sensitive surface. In some examples, the SMI sensors can be used to detect characteristics of the input device including position, orientation, and/or motion of the input device and/or force applied by the input device (e.g., force applied by a stylus tip). In some examples, some or all of the characteristics of the input device can be used in processing to generate content, including textual character input and three-dimensional objects. In some examples, the generation of content can use information from one or more additional sensors for the input device and/or from additional devices in combination with the characteristics of the input device based on the SMI sensors for generation of content.
SMART PEN AND A DISPLAY DEVICE USING THE SAME
A smart pen including: a body part; a nib part at an end of the body part; a code detection unit for receiving light reflected from a display panel and the nib part, wherein the light reflected from the display panel and the nib part is used to detect shape data for code patterns of the display panel; and a code processor for generating coordinate data based on the shape data and transmitting the coordinate data to a main processor for driving the display panel based on the coordinate data.
INFORMATION HANDLING SYSTEM STYLUS LOCATION AID HAVING SELECTABLE VIBRATION
A portable information handling system commands a stylus to vibrate to aid in location of the stylus. The stylus vibrates at a frequency selected from a range of plural frequencies based upon a distance between the portable information handling system and stylus so that an audible noise is generated by the stylus with sufficient sound to be heard by a user of the portable information handling system while minimizing stylus power consumption. In one embodiment, a haptic film at the stylus exterior surface generates an ultrasonic noise detectable by a microphone of the portable information handling system for determining a vector to the stylus.
INFORMATION HANDLING SYSTEM STYLUS HAVING AN ULTRASONIC LOCATION AID
A portable information handling system commands a stylus to vibrate to aid in location of the stylus. The stylus vibrates at a frequency selected from a range of plural frequencies based upon a distance between the portable information handling system and stylus so that an audible noise is generated by the stylus with sufficient sound to be heard by a user of the portable information handling system while minimizing stylus power consumption. In one embodiment, a haptic film at the stylus exterior surface and/or a speaker of information handling system generates an ultrasonic sound detectable by a microphone of the information handling system and/or the stylus for determining a distance between the information handling system and the stylus.
SENSORY STIMULI DEVICES FOR THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED
A method for improving spatial awareness of a user during drawing includes obtaining, using one or more sensors, position information of a drawing instrument relative to a drawing canvas. The method includes determining, using one or more processors, a first vibration intensity when the drawing instrument is within a first region of the drawing canvas based on the obtained position information. The method includes determining, using the one or more processors, a second vibration intensity when the drawing instrument is within a second region of the drawing canvas based on the obtained position information. The second vibration intensity can be larger than the first vibration intensity and the second region can be distinct from the first region. The method includes generating, by a sensory device, a vibration based on one or both of the first vibration intensity or the second vibration intensity.
Converter and conversion method for converting click position of display into light pen simulated signal for semiconductor manufacturing machine
Converter and conversion method for converting a click position of a flat panel display into a light pen simulated signal for a semiconductor manufacturing machine are provided. A converter includes a first connector, a second connector, and a controller coupled between the first connector and the second connector. The first connector is configured to obtain the click position from the flat panel display. The second connector is configured to provide the light pen simulated signal to the semiconductor manufacturing machine according to a synchronization signal from the semiconductor manufacturing machine. The controller is configured to generate the light pen simulated signal according to the click position and a mapping table of a first display resolution of the flat panel display and a second display resolution of the semiconductor manufacturing machine. The first display resolution is higher than the second display resolution.
GLASS ARTICLE WITH TRANSPARENT, LIGHT CONVERTING SPATIAL LOCATION ENCODING LAYER
A glass article including a spatial location encoding layer for use in a digital inking system, an associated electronic device, a method of making and a digital inking system are provided. The glass article utilizes a plurality of light converting regions disposed on the surface of the glass in a pattern encoding spatial location. The plurality of light converting regions are formed from an inorganic, environmentally stable material, such as alternating stacks of III-V compound materials.
CONTACTLESS OPERATION OF MEDICAL DEVICES
Contactless operation of a medical device, such as a hemodialysis (HD) or peritoneal dialysis (PD) device, is provided via a mobile pointing apparatus and a receiving arrangement associated with the medical device. The mobile pointing apparatus includes a signal emitter for emitting an optical or electromagnetic signal, and the receiving arrangement associated with the medical device determines a pointing target of the mobile pointing apparatus relative to the medical device based on the signal emitted by the mobile pointing apparatus and triggers a function of the device based on the pointing target of the mobile pointing apparatus.
