DISPLAY APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING DISPLAY APPARATUS
20170371426 · 2017-12-28 · ·

When position information is outputted, in a case where the correspondence between a first interface via which an image signal is inputted and a second interface via which the position information is outputted has not been stored, it is evaluated whether a candidate of the second interface is uniquely determined. When the candidate is not uniquely determined, an output destination identification image is displayed, and an output destination selected in the output destination identification image is stored in a management table. When the correspondence between the first interface and the second interface has been stored, it is evaluated whether a no output destination has been stored in the management table, and when the no output destination does not apply, the position information is transmitted.

Remote computer mouse by camera and laser pointer
20170357336 · 2017-12-14 ·

An apparatus and methods for remote controlling of mouse cursor and imitating its function is disclosed. The apparatus comprises of a camera module, one or more processors, one or more memories, a communication interface, a switch for setting work mode and image processing programs stored in the memories. This apparatus has two working modes which are set by the switch: camera mode and mouse mode. In camera mode, the apparatus works as a regular digital camera. In mouse mode, the apparatus works with a laser pointer to play functions of a mouse. It captures the image of a target area which is overlaid with the beam spot of the laser pointer, then analyzes the trace pattern and detects the dynamic properties of the beam spot characterized by primary and secondary attributes, and further performs predefined mouse when communicating with a computer through wired or wireless communication.

Direct three-dimensional pointing using light tracking and relative position detection
11669173 · 2023-06-06 · ·

A computing system for direct three-dimensional pointing includes at least one computing device, and a pointing/input device including at least one light source and a motion sensor module for determining absolute and relative displacement of the pointing/input device. At least one imaging device is configured for capturing a plurality of image frames each including a view of the light source as the pointing/input device is held and/or moved in a three-dimensional space. Two or more imaging devices may be provided. A computer program product calculates at least a position and/or a motion of the light source in three-dimensional space from the plurality of sequential image frames and from the pointing/input device absolute and relative displacement information, and renders on the graphical user interface a visual indicator corresponding to the calculated position and/or the motion of the light source. Methods for direct three-dimensional pointing and command input are described also.
