An electronic apparatus that comprises at least a repositioning mechanism wherein at least one of said repositioning mechanisms alternately repositions for use and disuse at least an input device such that user can transition from using at least one of said input devices to using at least another one of said input devices even while both palms remain continuously engaged to their locations.

Echo display device and cursor movement control method

There is provided an echo display device that is easy to manipulate and allows echoes that appear on an echo screen to be designated easily, quickly, and reliably with a cursor. An information display device includes a display component 10, a track ball, and a controller. The display component 10 displays a radar image in real time based on echo information inputted from a radar antenna. The track ball is manipulated to move a cursor 5 displayed in the radar image. The controller includes a cursor display position determination component, and this cursor display position determination component determines the display position of the cursor 5 in the radar image based on manipulation of the track ball. Also, when the display position of an echo E1 is within a specific range from a cursor display position (position P2) after the cursor 5 has moved by manipulation of the track ball, the cursor display position determination component moves the display position of the cursor 5 to a position P3 that coincides with this echo E1.

Method and apparatus for changing user interface based on information related to a probe

A method of changing a user interface (UI), which is used for diagnosis of a target object via a medical device, based on user motion information. The method including obtaining motion information regarding a user; changing the UI based on the obtained motion information regarding the user; and displaying the changed UI.

Hand operated computer input device with palm heel support
11256345 · 2022-02-22 ·

A hand operated computer input device comprising a main body with a flat support surface for the entire palm heel is provided. The new support surface provided is not for the palm, metacarpals, proximal and intermediate finger segments, or wrist. Only a user's palm heel and finger tips touch the input device. The entire palm heel wholly supports the weight of a users hand and arm. There is no pressure on the median nerve at the wrist or in the hand. There is no angle at the wrist while the hand maintains a generally neutral position. The height between the top of the palm heel support surface and the top surface of the buttons, wheels, etc. places the hand in a generally neutral, relaxed cupped position. The present invention seeks to prevent repetitive strain injury (RSI) and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome while using a horizontal or vertical hand operated computer input device.

Apparatus for controlling contents of a computer-generated image using three dimensional measurements
09785255 · 2017-10-10 · ·

A method for controlling movement of a computer display cursor based on a point-of-aim of a pointing device within an interaction region includes projecting an image of a computer display to create the interaction region. At least one calibration point having a predetermined relation to said interaction region is established. A pointing line is directed to substantially pass through the calibration point while measuring a position of and an orientation of the pointing device. The pointing line has a predetermined relationship to said pointing device. Movement of the cursor is controlled within the interaction region using measurements of the position of and the orientation of the pointing device.

Ergonomic computer mouse with handheld and ambidextrous body design
09785256 · 2017-10-10 ·

This invention is an ergonomic computer mouse. The computer mouse body has a unique design in shape that may change the way for people to use a computer mouse. It is designed to be handheld by ring finger, little finger, and the hand part between thumb and index finger with a grip handle. A rear extrusion is smoothly curved and is designed to create a curved support area for the hand part between thumb and index finger. A trackball is confined in the body with a spherical housing and partially exposed on right side and left side of the body. The trackball is arranged near the middle of the body and above the grip handle so that thumb can reach it and operate it in its natural posture. A trackball cover is designed to separate the trackball and hand palm. Two click buttons and scroll wheel are arranged vertically on the fore edge of the body so that index finger and middle finger can naturally reach and operate them. A finger guard ring is designed to help adjusting the body's location in a hand palm with ring finger and little finger. A curved top edge and a front extrusion are designed to make the body shape look aesthetic. Two spherical extrusions on each side of the body are designed to provide 3-points support together with trackball on a flat surface. People can hold and use the mouse at any desired orientation without a flat surface and can use either right hand or left hand to operate it. It can also be used on a flat desk surface (even on a transparent flat surface) as people use a regular computer mouse. It allows people to take a comfortable desired posture to operate the computer mouse and allows people to change hand to operate it. As a result it can reduce discomfort, pain, and fatigue injury on a user's hand, arm, and shoulder when the user works on a computer with this invention.
