Multi-sensor device with an accelerometer for enabling user interaction through sound or image
A method for controlling movement of a computer display cursor based on a point-of-aim of a pointing device within an interaction region includes projecting an image of a computer display to create the interaction region. At least one calibration point having a predetermined relation to the interaction region is established. A pointing line is directed to substantially pass through the calibration point while measuring a position of and an orientation of the pointing device. The pointing line has a predetermined relationship to the pointing device. Movement of the cursor is controlled within the interaction region using measurements of the position of and the orientation of the pointing device.
Determining orientation of a trackball
A model controller includes a trackball having a spherical surface with one of latitudinal or longitudinal data tracks formed thereon. The model controller includes a base unit including a first image sensor adjacent to the trackball to capture images of the data tracks, wherein the captured images of the data tracks include orientation information to determine an absolute orientation of the trackball.
Computer input device
A computer input device including a housing including a first side and a second side that is spaced apart from the first side, and a ball partially positioned within and rotatable relative to the housing. At least a portion of the ball extends through an aperture in the first side. The computer input device also includes a user-operable actuator accessible from the second side of the housing and configured to eject the ball from the housing.

ROWING MACHINE HAVING A HANDLE WITH A CURSOR CONTROL DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING A CURSOR AT A GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE
A handle for a rowing machine is provided. The handle has a cursor control device which accepts user input. A processor is in electronic communication with the cursor control device and an electronic display. An electronic storage device comprises executable software instructions, which when executed, configure the processor to receive user input from the cursor control device and move the cursor on a graphical user interface (“GUI”) in response to the received user input or update the GUI based on user input.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR STEERABLE ELONGATE DEVICE
Systems and methods for controlling an elongate device include a console. The console includes a first recess and a removable first input control for controlling motion of the medical device. The console also may include one or more first sensors located about the first recess that detect motion of the first input control and detect operator contact with the first input control. The console also may include an integrated display screen arranged to display status information for the medical device. In some embodiments, the first input control controls an insertion depth or steering of the medical device, and may be in the form of a scroll wheel forming a part of a removable control assembly
Auxiliary terminal-control apparatus and method
An auxiliary terminal-control apparatus, where the apparatus includes a back plate sticker, a control key embedded into the back plate sticker, a communications module, and a control module. The control module is configured to recognize a target operation on the control key, and generate, based on the target operation, a corresponding target operation instruction, where the control key includes a roll ball and/or a key, operations on the roll ball include a roll operation and a press operation, and an operation on the key includes a press operation; and the communications module is configured to establish a communication connection to a terminal device to send the target operation instruction to the terminal device, where the target operation instruction is used to operate an application program on the terminal device or trigger a service.
Virtual reality vehicle operation simulation
An interactive vehicle simulation system having a virtual reality engine that generates a virtual operating environment that includes a user operated vehicle having a plurality of wheel types, a vehicle position, vehicle orientation, vehicle velocity and vehicle acceleration.
Method and apparatus for quantifying button click force
A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus for adjusting feedback parameters are provided. The apparatus may determine a duration of pressing a button of an input device based on a signal associated with the button. To determine the duration of pressing the button, the apparatus may calculate the duration based on a start time and an end time. The start time may be a first time instance at which the button is pressed and the end time may be a second time instance at which the pressed button is released. The apparatus may classify the press force applied on the button of the input device into a category of a plurality of categories based on the duration. The apparatus may adjust a parameter of a feedback corresponding to the press force based on the category. The apparatus may control the feedback based on the parameter.
