An electronic device includes a short-range wireless communication circuit that performs first short-range wireless communication based on a first protocol and second short-range wireless communication based on a second protocol, and a processor that connects the first short-range wireless communication with a peripheral device through the short-range wireless communication circuit, transmits a service discovery frame including service information associated with the peripheral device to devices included in a cluster configured to include the electronic device through the second short-range wireless communication when a trigger event occurs, establishes a wireless data communication path with an external electronic device, which transmits a message in response to the service discovery frame to the electronic device through the second short-range wireless communication, from among the devices included in the cluster, and transmits input information received from the peripheral device through the short-range wireless communication circuit or control information corresponding to the input information to the external electronic device through the wireless data communication path.

An operation detection sensor is provided and an electronic apparatus is provided that detect an operation on an operation target regardless of a waveform state of an output voltage of a sensor. The operation detection sensor includes a piezoelectric element, a voltage detection circuit that detects a voltage generated in the piezoelectric element, and a calculation unit that obtains a reference voltage by averaging detection voltages of the voltage detection circuit, and detects an operation on an operation target when a state in which a voltage difference between the reference voltage and the detection voltage is a predetermined value or more continues for a predetermined time or more.

An input detection system includes a detection device including a plurality of drive electrodes and a plurality of detection electrodes arrayed in a detection region, and a drive electrode scan circuit configured to supply a drive signal to the drive electrodes, and an input device including an LC circuit, a first electrode coupled to one end side of the LC circuit, and a second electrode coupled to the other end side of the LC circuit. The drive electrode scan circuit supplies the drive signal to at least equal to or more than one of the drive electrodes and supplies, to the others of the drive electrodes, an opposite phase signal as a drive signal having an opposite phase to a phase of the drive signal.

An electronic pen includes a cylindrical housing including an opening on one end of the housing in an axial direction of the housing, a core body attached inside of the housing such that an end of the core body protrudes from the opening on the one end of the housing, and a signal generation circuit which, in operation, generates a signal that is transmitted from the core body. The core body includes a core rod that is conductive and a protection member. The core rod includes a front portion that protrudes from the opening on the one end of the housing, a back portion, and an intermediate portion between the front portion and the back portion. The intermediate portion has a tapered shape narrowing from the front portion toward the back portion. The core rod receives the signal from the signal generation circuit. The protection member covers a side surface of the intermediate portion of the core rod.
Electronic device for identifying gesture performed by stylus pen and method for operating the same
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a sensing panel, at least one processor electrically connected to the sensing panel and the communication module, and a memory electrically connected to the at least one processor. The memory may store instructions configured to, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to, based on a pen signal from the stylus pen being detected through the sensing panel, perform a first operation identified based on the detected pen signal, and based on the pen signal from the stylus pen not being detected through the sensing panel, receive, through the communication module, at least one communication signal, identify a gesture based on information on a position of the stylus pen, included in the received at least one communication signal, and perform a second operation corresponding to the identified gesture. Various other embodiments are possible.

A capacitive touch screen display operates by: providing a display configured to render frames of data into visible images; providing a plurality of electrodes integrated into the display to facilitate touch sense functionality based on electrode signals having a drive signal component and a receive signal component; generating, via a plurality of drive-sense circuits coupled to at least some of the plurality of electrodes, a plurality of sensed signals; receiving the plurality of sensed signals; generating a stream of capacitance image data associated with the plurality of cross points that includes capacitance variation data corresponding to variations of the capacitance image data from a nominal value within a temporal period; and processing the capacitance image data to determine a touchless gesture occurring within the temporal period.

A display device includes at least one touch sensor configured to sense a touch in response to a touch signal, a display panel including the at least one touch sensor and configured to operate in one of a display mode and a touch-sensing mode, a first circuit and a second circuit. The first circuit is configured to supply at least one of a first touch signal and a second touch signal to the at least one touch sensor during the touch-sensing mode, to yield at least one supplied signal, the first touch signal being different from the second touch signal. The second circuit is configured to control signal lines corresponding to the at least one touch sensor to receive a signal corresponding to the at least one supplied signal or to be in an electrically open state.
Reducing sensitivity to leakage variation for passive stylus
An input device such as a stylus for providing input to a touch-sensitive surface with reduced sensitivity to leakage current variations over temperature is disclosed. A passive stylus may include one or more diodes in parallel with one or more bleed resistors. The non-linear load of the diode and resistor network can be operative to provide a stylus electric field in response to a stimulation signal from an electronic device that can be capacitively coupled to, and sensed by, the electronic device. The signal sensed by the electronic device can be a function of the total leakage current, which can vary greatly as a function of temperature and frequency. In order to improve performance, the diode and resistor network, including the bleed resistor(s) and diodes within that network, can be selected and/or designed to provide a reduced variation in the leakage current and more accurate stylus detection.

An electronic device including: a display panel; and an input sensor disposed on the display panel, wherein the input sensor is configured to sense an external input, the input sensor including: a first sensing electrode including a plurality of first mesh lines; and a second sensing electrode including a plurality of second mesh lines insulated from the first mesh lines and a bridge pattern overlapping the first mesh lines, and wherein the first mesh lines include a plurality of metal layers, the first mesh lines include a first portion overlapping the bridge pattern and a second portion that does not overlap the bridge pattern, wherein the first portion includes an outermost metal layer including a material different from a material of an outermost metal layer of the second portion, and wherein the outermost metal layers of the first and second portions are adjacent to a display surface of the electronic device.
