A print control device used to control printing on a three-dimensional workpiece includes an acquisition unit that acquires workpiece information including information about the number of print surfaces of the workpiece, where an image is printed on each of the print surfaces, a controller that displays, on a display device, a print image setting portion for a user to set an image to be printed on each of the print surfaces, and a reception unit that receives an operation by the user via an input device, wherein the controller changes the number of the print image setting portions to be displayed on the display device according to the workpiece information.

A determination is made as to whether priority is given to a print setting or a print preset by a general-purpose print service performed on an information processing apparatus. This makes it possible to resolve a conflict in settings.

An image forming apparatus has an office direct print function, and when a non-installed font that is not installed in the image forming apparatus is included in application data, a font substitution guidance screen is displayed on a display. A drop-down list that is an operator for selecting a substitute font is provided in the font substitution guidance screen, whereby a user can arbitrarily select a substitute font. The font substitution guidance screen displays also a sample character group having a typeface according to the selected substitute font.

An information processing apparatus receives, from an image forming apparatus, setting values of a first setting item including a first setting value, setting values of a second setting item including a second setting value and a selected first combination without receiving a second combination, causes a display to display a first object for selecting one of the received setting values of the first setting item and a second object for selecting one of the received setting values of the second setting item, and restricts, based on the received first combination, setting a combination of the first setting value and the second setting value among combinations of setting values set by the first object and the second object.

A method for processing a print job by a printing system and a finishing system resulting in an end product is disclosed. The printing system includes a print controller. The finishing system is an in-line or near-line finishing system and includes a finishing controller for controlling the finishing process by means of a collection of finishing templates stored in memory of the finishing controller. The printing system and the finishing system are connected via a digital connection. The method includes the steps of the print controller receiving the print job including a plurality of print job settings, the print controller establishing an identifier of a finishing template from the collection of finishing templates in accordance with at least one print job setting of the plurality of print job settings, the print controller sending the established identifier of the finishing template to the finishing system, the finishing controller receiving the established identifier of the finishing template, the printing system printing the print job, the finishing system retrieving the finishing template identified by the received identifier from memory of the finishing controller, and the finishing system finishing the print job according to the retrieved finishing template.

Certain aspects and features relate to using an image modifier to generate digital designs and to printing the digital designs on a structure for flooring or other decoration that can more realistically mimic designs found in nature or otherwise provide designers with the freedom to create aesthetic designs more easily. An image modifier can receive an image, such as an image of a naturally occurring view and generate modified designs based on the image. The modified designs can be slight modifications to the image and printed on the structures for flooring such that together the printed structures exhibit the appearance of a design found in nature or a desired appearance by a designer.

An image forming apparatus includes a controller configured to perform a storage printing process that includes storing print data in a dedicated memory, which is a portable memory set as a storage destination to store the print data in the storage printing process when attached to a dedicated port among a plurality of ports, and causing a print engine to perform printing according to the print data stored in the dedicated memory in response to an operation received via a user interface, prior to the storage printing process, set one of the plurality of ports as the dedicated port, in response to a portable memory being attached to a port, determine whether the portable memory is the dedicated memory and the port is the dedicated port, and provide a notification when determining that the portable memory is not the dedicated memory but the port is the dedicated port.

An image processing apparatus includes: a display control unit configured to display a preview on a screen, the preview including a plurality of sheet regions and objects placed on the sheet regions; a reception unit configured to select one or more of the objects placed on the sheet regions in response to a user input and receive a drag operation; and a move unit configured to, in moving a plurality of the objects at once in response to an operation received by the reception unit, gather the plurality of objects onto a same sheet region without maintaining a positional relation between the objects in a case where a particular condition is satisfied.

A control method of an information processing apparatus on which an expansion application configured to expand a function of print data generation software configured to generate print data runs, is provided. The control method comprises obtaining attribute data on a printing apparatus, the attribute data being output from the printing apparatus, obtaining data indicating a print function, and adding information related to a specific function based on attribute information included in the obtained attribute data if information indicating the specific function is not included in the obtained data indicating the print function. A setting screen including a setting item of the specific function is displayed based on the added information related to the specific function.

An information processing apparatus performs: receiving a print instruction for repeatedly printing an object along a particular direction, the print instruction including an image length; determining whether the image length exceeds a particular length; in a case where the image length exceeds the particular length, creating print image data of a first image and a second image, the first and second images including the object arranged repeatedly, a length of the first image being within the particular length, the second image continuing from the first image, a total length of the first and second images being equal to the image length; in a case where the image length does not exceed the particular length, creating print image data of a third image in which the object is arranged repeatedly, a length of the third image being equal to the image length; and outputting the print image data to a printer.
