Ink saturation for a print job varies according to prioritized elements identified within a given document or print job. Elements are prioritized according to pre-defined values according to document type and identified elements within the document type. High priority elements of a document are assigned greater ink saturation than lower priority elements of the same document. Automated prioritization is made possible by a crowd-sourced knowledge corpus including pre-defined document types and corresponding elements of the documents. Historic configurations accepted by a user drive a learning process using a feedback loop for refined decision-making as print jobs are submitted for printing.

A control method for an information processing apparatus is provided. The method comprises receiving a designation of a number of divisions of an image; after a designation of a number of divisions equivalent to a first number has been received, executing predetermined processing related to a number of divisions equivalent to a second number different from the first number based on at least one of whether a specific region of the image is divided in the first number of divided images, which correspond to the image that has been divided by the number of divisions equivalent to the first number, and a percentage that a predetermined region in each of the first number of the divided images accounts for in the specific region; and after the predetermined processing, executing processing for printing a plurality of divided images corresponding to the divided.

A printing apparatus includes a print head, a conveyance device and a control device configured to: obtain image data each corresponding to a respective divided image; generate print data, including combining at least two lines of a plurality of lines obtained by dividing the divided image; print the print image based on the print data; determine whether to perform printing based on next print data after performing the printing based on one print data; if yes, stop printing of a predetermined number of lines from an end of the one print data when performing the printing based on the one print data; and combine a first line of the one print data and a second line of the next print data, the number of the first and the second lines corresponding to the predetermined number of the lines.

A process is disclosed for creating a print profile to control the operation of a direct-to-shape printing system for applying images on the exterior of an axially symmetrical media object that has a contoured, varying exterior surface, such as occurs on curved wine bottles and sports equipment like bats. The process takes a media recipe holding media geometry information and an image intended to be printed and processes that information to control a motion control subsystem and a print engine subsystem. The geometry information is manipulated to generate a CAM table suitable for the motion control subsystem, and the image file is processed to create a raster image file suitable for ink head expression. Various setup values are included in the process to prepare the direct-to-shape printing system for use of the media recipe.

A printing apparatus includes an image former which forms a tone pattern image on a sheet conveyed from a sheet feeding deck, a color measurer which performs color measurement by reading the tone pattern image formed by the image former, and one or more controllers including one or more processors and one or more memories. The one or more controllers are configured to generate tone correction data based on a difference between color measurement results by the color measurer and a reference value, and perform tone correction for print target image data by using the generated tone correction data. The reference value is registered in association with a type of sheet that is accommodated in the sheet feeding deck, and in a case where the type of sheet that is accommodated in the sheet feeding deck is changed, the reference value is cleared.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium stores a computer program for setting a shape of a label causing a computer to execute: receiving an input of first information for setting a width of a second part in a first direction; receiving an input of second information for setting a height in a second direction of a display area of the second part; receiving an input of third information for setting a height in the second direction of an overlap width area of the second part, an end portion of the display area in a third direction being capable of adhering to the overlap width area; receiving an input of fourth information for setting a height of a first protruding portion in the second direction; and setting a shape of the label, based on the input first information, second length information, third length information and fourth information.

An image forming apparatus has an office direct print function, and when a non-installed font that is not installed in the image forming apparatus is included in application data, a font substitution guidance screen is displayed on a display. A can body printing system includes: a status detection section 305 configured to, when printing is performed on a can body by a user, detect satisfaction of a condition for the printing set by a third party that is not the user; and a print stopping section 306 configured to control a stoppage of the printing on the can body in response to detection of the satisfaction of the condition for the printing set by the third party that is not the user.
