A printing apparatus configured to store a first setting relating to print jobs designated for reserved printing, the first setting indicating an acceptance condition for accepting a print job designated for reserved printing, receive information of a print job and store the received information of the print job in a storage device. In a case where the received information of the print job indicates that the print job is a print job designated for reserved printing and the print job for which information has been received satisfies the acceptance condition indicated by the first setting, the information of the print job is stored in the storage device in a manner such that the print job is to be executed at the job execution time designated for the print job, and a print job corresponding to the stored information is executed at the job execution time designated in the stored information.

Methods related to pre-processing a print job are disclosed. In an example method thereof, it is determined whether a document file is loaded in an application for the print job. Identifying information for the document file is retrieved. A data set obtained from the identifying information is sent to a print manager. A print history for the document file is updated responsive to the data set. The print job includes: pre-rendering of the document file into a document image; and caching of the document image. Print settings of the print job are associated with the document file. The print settings are tracked to provide criteria data to identify frequency of use of the document file.

An operation terminal is caused to perform: acquiring cumulative operation amounts of a plurality of items of each of a plurality of printing apparatuses, the cumulative operation amounts being transmitted from the plurality of printing apparatuses which are within a communication range of the communication unit; receiving, via an operation unit, a designation of at least one item of the plurality of items; determining a use frequency ranking of the plurality of printing apparatuses in accordance with the received designation; and performing, based on a result of the determined use frequency ranking, one of connection processing of connecting to a printing apparatus by the wireless communication and preparation processing of preparing for connection to a printing apparatus by the wireless communication, in a manner that a printing apparatus having a low use frequency ranking is prioritized over a printing apparatus having a high use frequency ranking.

An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to create a group of jobs to be executed that have a common attribute, acquire, before execution of the jobs, information on materials used for execution of the jobs or a storage place for storing products obtained as a result of execution of the jobs, the information indicating that the materials or the storage place, which is not suitable for execution of the jobs at a time of creation of the group, reaches a state suitable for execution of the jobs after creation of the group, and create an execution plan so that the jobs are executed per group in a time window in which the materials or the storage place reaches the state suitable for execution of the jobs by using the information.

A color printing device can include a print engine, a circuit, and a processor. The print engine prints onto physical media using different color colorants. The circuit has data-processing color channels corresponding to the different color colorants. The processor receives monochromatic print jobs and transmits the received monochromatic print jobs to unused color channels of the color channels for processing in parallel. The processor can transmit the processed monochromatic print jobs to the print engine for printing.

According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus having a plurality of operation modes including a normal mode and a power saving mode in which power consumption is less than that in the normal mode and includes a processor. The processor is configured to acquire information about unexecuted print jobs via a communication interface or the like. The processor transitions the apparatus to the power saving mode after a preset standby time elapses after a completion of a print job by the apparatus if an unexecuted print job satisfies predetermined conditions that indicate that the unexecuted print job can be executed on the apparatus. The processor transitions the apparatus to the power saving mode sooner than the elapse of the preset standby time after the completion of the print job if none of the unexecuted print jobs satisfies the predetermined conditions.

An image processing apparatus capable of, even both of reservation printing and pre-printing paper sheet confirmation are set for one print job, preventing a printing process from substantially being halted due to a confliction between these two settings. The image processing apparatus is capable of generating a print job, a time request and a print medium confirmation request. The image processing apparatus performs: a first process, which exclusively generates one of the time request and the print medium confirmation request, generates the print job including the generated one request, and performs a process corresponding to the generated one request prior to printing based on the print job; or a second process, which generates the time request and the print medium confirmation request, generates both of the two request, and exclusively performs one of the two requests prior to printing based on the print job.

An image processing apparatus comprises a CPU for controlling the image processing apparatus and a microcomputer that verifies alteration of a program that is stored in a nonvolatile memory and that the CPU executes, and that outputs a notification signal that indicates the verification result. Provided is a print processing device including a processor configured to: use paper information including at least information of remaining amounts of a plural stack of continuous paper as information of the continuous paper and print processing information including information of print processes; and display information of at least one of executable print processes that are executable based on paper information of specific continuous paper including information of a remaining amount of the specific continuous paper among the plural stacks of continuous paper.
