One or more computer processors identify a content and a context of the document. Based on the content and the context of the document, one or more computer processors determine whether the request complies with one or more printing policies. Responsive to determining the request complies with the one or more printing policies, one or more computer processors determine one or more format attributes of the document. Based on the one or more format attributes, one or more computer processors determine whether the document format is optimized, where optimization minimizes use of one or more printing supplies. The control unit displays a list of transmission jobs for the transmission unit to transmit the image data generated when the reading unit reads the original in response to the selection of the key during display of a main menu screen for accepting a selection of a function to be used.

An image processing device includes a display, an input section, a print section that executes printing by using a consumption material, and a controller, in which the controller calculates an index value of an index relating to the consumption material consumed by the print section to display the index and the index value by the display, displays a setting item relating to the index by the display, when input indicating that the index is selected is detected by the input section, and controls the print section to execute printing based on setting of the setting item, when input indicating that the setting item is set is detected by the input section.

The consumable determination process is to determine whether a particular consumable is included in one or more of consumables attached to the printing device, the particular consumable being a consumable that meets a prescribed condition required for transition to a specific printing state where specific printing under a contract with the server is allowed. The transition process is to execute the transition to the specific printing state in a case where: the communication state is determined to be communicable with the server in the communication status monitoring process; and the particular consumable is determined to be included in the one or more of consumables in the consumable determination process.

A method includes an accepting step of causing an information processing apparatus to accept a request for switching a contracted device from a first image forming apparatus to a second image forming apparatus, the contracted device being an image forming apparatus allowed to use contracted consumables accommodating printing materials based on a contract, an enablement-establishing step of causing the information processing apparatus to establish a first enabled state in which the second image forming apparatus is allowed to use a contracted consumables, in response to acceptance of the request, and an enablement-continuing step of causing the information processing apparatus to establish a second enabled state in which the first image forming apparatus is allowed to continuously use the contracted consumables that has been previously used in the first image forming apparatus for a predetermined period, in response to acceptance of the request.

When the consumable is replenished or replaced, the information processing device determines whether or not the stock amount of the consumable is equal to or less than a threshold value that is defined as a determination criterion based on the remaining amount information and the stock amount information, and displays a consumables management screen displaying a status object indicating a status of the consumable that is determined, in the determining process, that the stock amount is equal to or less than the threshold value.
