Image forming apparatus, method of controlling image forming apparatus, and storage medium
An image forming apparatus is provided on which an application including a first module and a second module is installed. The first module is configured to determine whether to activate the second module based at least on a time set by a user, and activate the second module based on the first module determining to activate the second module. The second module is configured to cause the image forming apparatus to perform printing. In addition, the image forming apparatus includes an activation unit configured to activate the first module without activating the second module, periodically at each elapse of a predetermined time interval. In a case where it is determined that the second module is to be activated before a time when the first module is to be activated next, the first module is configured to set a timing to activate the second module.
Image printing method and printer for segmenting an image to create first data files and first memory blocks and printing each data file using print position information
An image printing method and printer is provided. The method comprises obtaining an original data file of an image to be printed from a database; dividing the original data file into a plurality of first data files and storing the first data files in a plurality of first memory blocks correspondingly; receiving an image printing request, the image printing request carrying first position information of the image to be printed; determining from its position information of the image to be printed second position information contained in the first position information, and filling a first data file corresponding to the second position information to a second memory block from the first memory block where the first data file is located through memory mapping mechanism to form a second data file to be printed; and printing and outputting the second data file in the second memory block.
Image forming apparatus and method of controlling image forming apparatus for executing trim processing on a semiconductor area
An image forming apparatus includes a sensor configured to detect an original, a nonvolatile storage that includes a semiconductor area, a setting unit configured to execute a setting for dividing the semiconductor area into a plurality of areas, and a controller configured to execute Trim processing on the divided areas in response to passing of a predetermined time period while the image forming apparatus is in a standby state. The controller is configured to stop the Trim processing based on a detection of the original detected by the sensor while the Trim processing is executed.
IMAGE PROCESSING DEVICE AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM STORING COMPUTER-READABLE INSTRUCTIONS FOR IMAGE PROCESSING DEVICE
An image processing device may include a controller configured to, in a case where a disabling instruction to cause a service state to shift to a disabled state is obtained under a situation where the service state is an enabled state, shift the service state from the enabled state to the disabled state, and in the case where the disabling instruction is obtained under the situation where the service state is the enabled state, send an acceptance stop instruction to a server. The acceptance stop instruction may be an instruction to cause the server to stop acceptance of a job sending request.
Cell-based compression with edge detection and interleaved encoding
An example embodiment may involve obtaining (i) an a×b attribute macro-cell, and (ii) a×b pixel macro-cells for each of a luminance plane, a first color plane, and a second color plane of an input image. The a×b pixel macro-cells may each contain 4 non-overlapping m×n pixel cells. The example embodiment may also involve determining 4 attribute-plane output values that represent the 4 non-overlapping m×n attribute cells, 1 to 4 luminance-plane output values that represent the a×b pixel macro-cell of the luminance plane, a first color-plane output value to represent the a×b pixel macro-cell of the first color plane, and a second color-plane output value to represent the a×b pixel macro-cell of the second color plane. The example embodiment may further involve writing an interleaved representation of the output values to a computer-readable output medium.
PRINTING SYSTEM, PRINTING DEVICE, AND CONTROL METHOD FOR PRINTING SYSTEM
In a printing system including a client terminal and a printing device including one or more storage regions for storing printing jobs, the client terminal and the printing device communicating with each other using an IPP, the client terminal displays a candidate for a storage destination of a printing job corresponding to information indicating a storage region included in a response of printing capability which is received from the printing device, designates a storage region corresponding to a storage destination selected by a user, and transmits a storage request for the printing job to the printing device. The printing device returns a response to an inquiry of the printing capability, which is received from the client terminal, inclusive of the information indicating the storage region, and stores the printing job in a designated storage region in a case where the storage request for the printing job including information for designating the storage region of the printing job has been received from the client terminal.
PRINTING DEVICE PERFORMING RESOURCE MONITORING PROCESS TO INCREASE AMOUNT OF AVAILABLE SPACE OF MEMORY
In a printing device a computer creates raster data based on an image file. When creating the raster data, the computer selects a target object in the image file and performs selected one of first, second, and third processes. The first process is to store a set of extraction data. The second process is performed when the target object includes content data. The second process is to create a set of intermediate data based on the target object. The third process is performed when the target object includes data on a reference to another object. The third process is to store a set of extraction data from the another object. The raster data is created by performing a drawing process on one or more sets of created intermediate data. The computer increases an amount of available space of the memory by deleting one or more sets of extraction data.
Image forming apparatus that restricts reception of print job based on a type of a previously received print job and control method therefor
An image forming apparatus which is capable of efficiently executing print jobs. The image forming apparatus receives a second print job after receiving a first print job and prints a plurality of copies of print data corresponding to the first print job. Whether or not the print data is to be printed by sort printing is determined, and when the print data is to be printed by sort printing, reception of the second print job is restricted until printing of the print data is completed, and when the print data is not to be printed by sort printing, reception of the second print job is not restricted even before printing of the print data is completed.
