Any one of the application portion and the emulator includes a transfer portion that stores data that is stored in a predetermined region of the second storage in a certain region of the first storage before the application portion stops the second storage. The emulator includes an access destination converter that converts access to the second storage by the guest controller into access to the certain region of the first storage after the second storage is stopped.

A image forming apparatus includes a power control unit, an operation mode control unit, and a first timer. The power control unit performs control so as to switch between a normal power state for supplying the operation power supply voltage to the image forming unit, a first power saving state for not supplying the operation power supply voltage to the image forming unit, and a second power saving state having less power consumption than the first power saving state. At least one image processing apparatus includes a storage unit configured to store configuration information of an image forming apparatus, a return unit configured to return the image processing apparatus from a power saving state when the image processing apparatus detects a predetermined condition, and a request unit configured to transmit a request for acquiring the configuration information of the image forming apparatus to the image forming apparatus when the return unit returns the image processing apparatus from the power saving state. The image forming apparatus includes a transmission unit configured to transmit the configuration information of the image forming apparatus to the image processing apparatus based on the request transmitted by the request unit. Further, the image processing apparatus includes an update unit configured to update the configuration information stored in the storage unit by using the configuration information of the image forming apparatus transmitted by the transmission unit.

An information processing apparatus includes a first controller and a second controller. The first controller is configured to control an operation of the overall information processing apparatus. The second controller is configured to control an operation of a device. When detecting a trigger of resumption from a power saving mode, the second controller notifies the first controller of the detection of the trigger, and starts to initialize a function corresponding to the trigger.

In a normal mode that is a mode when a user performs a printing work, a wireless operation unit shifts to a second mode when the wireless operation unit is not operated for a first predetermined time in a first mode. According to an embodiment, an image forming apparatus supplies, in a normal mode, electric power to an image forming device, and limits, in a power saving mode, power supplying to the image forming device to be less than that in the normal mode. The image forming apparatus communicates, in the normal mode, with a germicidal lamp apparatus via a communication interface such that the germicidal lamp apparatus generates no germicidal light, and communicates, in the power saving mode, with the germicidal lamp apparatus via the communication interface such that the germicidal lamp apparatus generates germicidal light.

A system and method are provided for implementing more efficient printing in image forming devices by providing a user-interactive scheme for delaying printing of individual user-requested print operations when an individual image forming device to which a specific user-requested printing operation is directed is determined to be in a power saving mode. The disclosed system and method may determine whether a requested image forming device is in a power saving mode at the time that a user requests an image forming operation and automatically present to the user a formatted user interface page on a display at the user workstation. The formatted user interface may provide the user with an option to direct the image forming device to delay (hold) executing the requested image forming operation until some additional condition is met.

An information processing apparatus that reduces power consumption using IEEE802.11ah connection without spoiling usability of wireless communication. The information processing apparatus includes a memory device that stores instructions, and a processor that executes the instructions to wirelessly communicate with an external apparatus by at least one of a first communication function that wireless communicates by a first wireless communication method that conforms to IEEE802.11ah and a second communication function that wirelessly communicates by a second wireless communication method of which a communication speed is higher than that of the first wireless communication method, determine whether an electric power state of the apparatus is a second electric power state in which power consumption is lower than a first electric power state, and prompt a user to set switching setting that stops the second communication function and starts the first communication function in the second electric power state.

Information is stored indicating a power state to which a printing apparatus is to be shifted. When a power switch receives a power off instruction, the printing apparatus is shifted to a first power state or a second power state in accordance with the stored information. In a first power state, power is supplied to a part of devices provided in the printing apparatus, and in a second power state, power is not supplied to the part of devices in the printing apparatus.
