A processing system that permits a user who is authenticated to use an image processing apparatus installed in a controlled area, the processing system includes an acquisition portion that acquires entrance permission/refusal information indicating whether or not there is entrance permission from a determination portion which determines, based on first authentication information acquired from the user, whether or not to permit entrance of the user to the controlled area, the entrance permission indicating that the entrance is permitted, and a processor that permits the user to use the image processing apparatus, when the entrance permission/refusal information indicates entrance permission and authentication is performed based on second authentication information acquired from the user in the controlled area.

An image forming apparatus includes a memory that stores identification information of authorized users in association with biometric information thereof, a reading device configured to read identification information from a medium, an input device through which biometric information is input, and a processor configured to, upon receipt of one of identification and biometric information, perform a first authentication by determining whether said one of identification and biometric information is stored, when said one of identification and biometric information is stored, upon receipt of the other of identification and biometric information, perform a second authentication by determining whether the other of identification and biometric information is stored in association with said one of identification and biometric information, and when the other of identification and biometric information is stored, enable a first operation that can be performed for the corresponding authorized user.

The printer may receive first user identification information from an external device and receive a registration request including first print setting information from the external device. In a first case where the first user identification information and the registration request are received from the external device and registration related information associated with the first user identification information among the one or more user identification information in a memory is permission information, the printer may register the first print setting information included in the registration request in the memory in association with the first user identification information. An image forming apparatus includes a controller including a processor, with the controller configured to register a first print setting value related to a predetermined print setting item, and receive, from an information processing apparatus, a second print setting value set by the information processing apparatus, wherein the received second print setting value is related to the predetermined print setting item. The registered first print setting value is compared to the received second print setting value, and information based on a result of the comparison is transmitted to the information processing apparatus.

A multifunctional peripheral (1) includes a communication part (22), a storage part (21), a free space determination part (25), a confidential document determination part (26), and a storage processing part (27). The free space determination part (25) determines that the storage part (21) contains a free space for storing print data, as a first storage condition. An image forming apparatus include a processor configured to: obtain a type of use, a tendency of use, or a use condition of the image forming apparatus by a user; and transmit a log regarding use of the image forming apparatus by the user with the obtained type of use, the obtained tendency of use, or the obtained use condition being distinguishable.

An information processing system includes: an authenticator that authenticates one or more image processing apparatuses using authentication information of a user in response to receipt of the authentication information; and a server including a processor configured to permit the user to use an image processing apparatus that has location information related to the authentication information of the user among the authenticated one or more image processing apparatuses.

An image processing system includes an information processing apparatus and an image forming apparatus. A first controller of the information processing apparatus transmits a print job, a setting instruction, and a plurality of mail addresses, to the image forming apparatus, upon receipt of a private print mode setting instruction through an operation device. A second controller of the image forming apparatus sets the private print mode, upon receipt of the print job, the setting instruction, and the plurality of mail addresses, generates a second print approval code, transmits the second print approval code to each of the plurality of mail addresses, and executes the print job, when the first print approval code is received via an input device, and the first print approval code and the second print approval code accord with each other, by causing the image forming device to form the image on the recording medium.

A notarization system for use in notarizing a document, the system comprising: a handheld notarization device having a printer; and a notarization application configured to be accessible only by a primary user and to operate on a mobile device having a camera, the notarization application being programmed to digitally read identification information from an identification card of a secondary user received via the camera, such that to verify the identity of the secondary user and authenticate the identification card, digitally scan and generate a digital line drawing of a fingerprint of the secondary user received via the camera, digitally generate a notarization endorsement and cause a printing of the notarization endorsement onto a tamper-resistant sticker via the printer, wherein, when the notarization application is being accessed by the primary user, and upon signing of the document by the secondary user, the notarization application causes a printing of the notarization endorsement.
