The drawing processing units perform a drawing process on a print instruction written in a page description language. The sending unit sends the entirety of a print instruction constituted by plural pages, to the drawing processing units. The delivery unit sequentially delivers processing requests each specifying a page to the drawing processing units. Each drawing processing unit performs a drawing process by converting the print instruction for a page specified by a delivered processing request into image data, and again performs, when processing requests are delivered in descending order of page, processing of the sent print instruction from the first page. The delivery unit delivers a processing request to a drawing processing unit to which processing requests are deliverable in ascending order of page.

An image processing apparatus includes a processor having a plurality of cores, each having different specifications. The image processing apparatus further includes a first estimator that estimates a processing capability of each of the plurality of cores, a second estimator that estimates, based on the processing capability of each of the plurality of cores, a required time for each of the plurality of cores to perform a specific process, and a controller. The plurality of cores comprises one or more candidate cores. The required time for each of the one or more candidate cores is equal to or less than a threshold. The controller controls one of the one or more candidate cores to perform the specific process. The required time of the candidate core that performs the specific process is the longest among the one or more candidate cores.

An image processing system for executing a plurality of processes includes a process execution control apparatus, and image generation-output control apparatuses of different types. The process execution control apparatus includes a process execution controller to control the processes, and to transmit a command information to the image generation-output control apparatuses. Each of the image generation-output control apparatuses includes a command information converter to convert the command information to a format processable by the image generation-output control apparatus, an imposition convertor to convert initial designation information to imposition process information processable by the image generation-output control apparatus, and an image drawing information generator to generate image drawing information.

Systems and methods associated with resource provisioning are disclosed. One example method includes dividing a set of printing resources into a first partition and a second partition. The example method also includes provisioning the first partition to handle print jobs from a print queue that have a specified attribute. The first partition may be provisioned when print jobs having the specified attribute exceed a first predefined threshold.

A press load balancer automatically balances the printing load over a number of presses by taking into account the load on each press and the substrates (i.e., paper types) and inks installed on the presses to improve throughput while minimizing load on the press operators.
