Then, thresholds of the first and second threshold matrices are set such that dot patterns having continuity with the first and second initial patterns are obtained at grayscale values between the first and second grayscale values.

According to examples, an apparatus may include a processor and a memory on which are stored computer-readable instructions that, when executed by the processor, may cause the processor to receive an input file and validate the input file for render errors. Based on a determination that the input file does not include the render errors, the processor may determine whether the input file passes a pre-flight analysis. Based on a determination that the input file has passed the pre-flight analysis, the processor may determine whether a specification of the input file matches an output specification for a printed document. Based on a determination that the specification of the input file corresponds to the output specification, the processor may output the input file as a verified input file for the printed document.

The control unit restricts the setting unit from performing the first print setting and the second print setting. In a state where one of the first print setting and the second print setting is performed by the setting unit, the control unit controls the setting unit not to perform the other print setting.
