In a case where the recognized content of voice is a content indicative of a user's dissatisfaction or request for an image formed by a printer, the application server executes processing for determining an item of a setting parameter and a value thereof to be changed in the printer, based on the recognized content of voice, generates a command including the determined item and value of the setting parameter, and transmits the generated command to the printer.

An image forming system includes an image former configured to form an image on a sheet, an inspector configured to inspect the sheet on which the image has been formed by the image former and determine whether or not the image of the sheet has an abnormality, and a controller configured to, in a case where the inspector determines that the image of the sheet has the abnormality of positional deviation, perform an adjustment operation in which an image formation position by the image former is adjusted.

An image forming system includes: an image forming apparatus having a priority paper feed source setting function and a print server that executes predetermined image processing, transmits image data after the image processing to the image forming apparatus, and causes the image forming apparatus to print an image based on the image data after the image processing. The print server (a) acquires a setting value of a priority paper feed source setting from the image forming apparatus, (b) specifies a print sheet orientation of a paper feed source designated as a priority paper feed source based on the acquired setting value, and (c) generates the image data after the image processing by matching an orientation of the image based on the image data after the image processing with an orientation corresponding to the specified print sheet orientation.

An image forming apparatus has an office direct print function, and when a non-installed font that is not installed in the image forming apparatus is included in application data, a font substitution guidance screen is displayed on a display. A drop-down list that is an operator for selecting a substitute font is provided in the font substitution guidance screen, whereby a user can arbitrarily select a substitute font. A method for processing a print job by a printing system and a finishing system resulting in an end product is disclosed. The printing system includes a print controller. The finishing system is an in-line or near-line finishing system and includes a finishing controller for controlling the finishing process by means of a collection of finishing templates stored in memory of the finishing controller. The printing system and the finishing system are connected via a digital connection. The method includes the steps of the print controller receiving the print job including a plurality of print job settings, the print controller establishing an identifier of a finishing template from the collection of finishing templates in accordance with at least one print job setting of the plurality of print job settings, the print controller sending the established identifier of the finishing template to the finishing system, the finishing controller receiving the established identifier of the finishing template, the printing system printing the print job, the finishing system retrieving the finishing template identified by the received identifier from memory of the finishing controller, and the finishing system finishing the print job according to the retrieved finishing template.

An image processing apparatus includes: a display control unit configured to display a preview on a screen, the preview including a plurality of sheet regions and objects placed on the sheet regions; a reception unit configured to select one or more of the objects placed on the sheet regions in response to a user input and receive a drag operation; and a move unit configured to, in moving a plurality of the objects at once in response to an operation received by the reception unit, gather the plurality of objects onto a same sheet region without maintaining a positional relation between the objects in a case where a particular condition is satisfied.

A control method of an information processing apparatus on which an expansion application configured to expand a function of print data generation software configured to generate print data runs, is provided. The control method comprises obtaining attribute data on a printing apparatus, the attribute data being output from the printing apparatus, obtaining data indicating a print function, and adding information related to a specific function based on attribute information included in the obtained attribute data if information indicating the specific function is not included in the obtained data indicating the print function. A setting screen including a setting item of the specific function is displayed based on the added information related to the specific function.

An information processing apparatus performs: receiving a print instruction for repeatedly printing an object along a particular direction, the print instruction including an image length; determining whether the image length exceeds a particular length; in a case where the image length exceeds the particular length, creating print image data of a first image and a second image, the first and second images including the object arranged repeatedly, a length of the first image being within the particular length, the second image continuing from the first image, a total length of the first and second images being equal to the image length; in a case where the image length does not exceed the particular length, creating print image data of a third image in which the object is arranged repeatedly, a length of the third image being equal to the image length; and outputting the print image data to a printer.

An example image forming includes a print engine to form an image, a display to display a user interface window for selecting at least one of an industry or a place using the image forming apparatus, and a processor to, based on at least one of the industry or the place being selected, set an option value corresponding to the at least one of the selected industry or place as a default option value for a function of the image forming apparatus.

An image forming apparatus capable of controlling execution of inspection without increasing a time period required to complete printing. On a registration screen, whether or not to execute inspection of data to be printed is set, and keywords indicative of confidentiality are registered. Text information is extracted from the data to be printed, and whether or not any keyword matching the text information has been registered is determined. Execution of print processing of the data to be printed is controlled based on a result of the determination. When non-execution of inspection is set, the print processing of the data to be printed is executed without executing the determination, whereas when execution of inspection is set, the print processing of the data to be printed is controlled based on a result of the determination.
