An information processing apparatus that manages print processes of plural printing apparatuses, the information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to acquire execution information indicating an execution status of each printing apparatus from the plural printing apparatuses, in a case in which a predetermined condition regarding processing of converting print data into a raster image is satisfied in one printing apparatus, extract another printing apparatus capable of executing the processing of converting the print data into the raster image from among other printing apparatuses other than the one printing apparatus by using the execution information, cause the other printing apparatus, that is extracted, to execute the processing of converting the print data of a print job scheduled to be printed in the one printing apparatus into the raster image, and perform control to transmit the raster image created by the other printing apparatus to the one printing apparatus.

A server of a printing system includes a print instruction acquisition unit configured to acquire a print instruction indicated by a voice that is a print instruction of a content included in a content group from a voice intermediation device, a selection unit configured to select a content to be printed from the content group according to the print instruction, and a transmitter configured to transmit print data for printing the selected content to the printing device. The selection unit totalizes a printing count of each content included in the content group for a plurality of users, and selects the content to be printed from the content group based on the totalized printing count. The selection unit may select the content to be printed from the content group based on an attribute applicable to a user. The printing device receives the print data and performs printing according to the print data.

A system and method are provided which enable overriding a custom color callout in a print job. Provision is made for a user to associate a unique ID with a custom color callout in a print job, e.g., during generation of the print job or at the printer. The custom color callout provides for a part of the print job to be rendered with a specific custom colorant, e.g., by identifying the name of the custom colorant. The unique ID is associated, in memory, with a custom colorant station of a print engine, independent of any custom colorant that may be housed in the custom colorant station. The method further includes identifying the custom colorant station of the print engine associated with the unique ID and sending the print job in a format for printing to the print engine for printing the part of the print job with a first custom colorant housed in the identified custom colorant station.

In one example, a print job is received from a first mobile computing device. The print job is stored in association with a job identifier. The job identifier is sent to the first mobile device. A release code is received from a second mobile computing device. The release code includes the job identifier and a directive regarding printing or forwarding of the job, and was received at the second mobile device from the first device via a wireless transaction. A network-connected printer associated with the second device is identified. Responsive to a determination that the release code is valid, the print job is sent to the printer.

A server is connected to an image forming apparatus in such a manner that communication is possible, the image forming apparatus forming an image in accordance with image-quality adjustment information that is set therein. The server includes a setting-information creating unit that creates, from the image-quality adjustment information including setting information and status information, the image-quality adjustment information having been set in a machine to be replaced, and from status information in image-quality adjustment information that has been set in the image forming apparatus that is an adjustment target, setting information to be included in the image-quality adjustment information of the image forming apparatus; and a communication processing unit that transmits the created setting information to be included in the image-quality adjustment information of the image forming apparatus to be set in the image forming apparatus.

A social networking system user may request physical prints of digital photographs stored in connection with the user's user profile on the social networking system. The physical prints are generated by a photograph developer, such as a retail store, and retrieved by the user. The user may request the physical prints from an application executing on a user device that allows the user to identify social context information associated with a digital photograph for inclusion on the physical print. The social networking system may notify users connected to the user and/or to the digital image of the physical print generation.

The disclosure provides an approach for print redirection in a remote computing environment. Embodiments include receiving, on a remote device, a request to perform a printing task using a printing device associated with a client device. Embodiments include determining, on the remote device, that data associated with the request to perform the printing task exceeds a size threshold. Embodiments include generating, on the remote device, a plurality of data slices based on the data, wherein each respective data slice of the plurality of data slices comprises a respective subset of the data that does not exceed the size threshold. Embodiments include transmitting, from the remote device to the client device, the plurality of data slices as separate transmissions in separate time intervals along with information that allows the data to be reconstructed from the plurality of data slices for performing the printing task on the client device.

An image forming apparatus of the present invention is an image forming apparatus that performs printing based on a print job and determines whether printing for a first print job and a second print job having been received after the first print job can be made continuously based on a progress of printing for the first print job. In a case where it is determined that the printing for the first print job and the second print job can be made continuously, print media to be used for printing for the second print job is fed to a conveyance path before completing outputting printouts for the first print job.

A controlling apparatus has a receiving unit receiving a print job, a determination unit determining whether there is a difference in a conveying mechanism based on settings of a first print job received by the receiving unit and settings of a second print job executed before the first print job; and an execution unit executing an inspection process based on a result of reading by an image reading unit in a case where the determination unit determines that there is a difference in the conveying mechanism.

Techniques are described for electronic content delivery. One method includes receiving information associated with the prescription order of a user account. In some cases, the information associated with the prescription order includes a medication identifier. The method may include performing a search using the medication identifier to obtain electronic medication documentation. The method may also include transmitting a sponsored content request that includes the medication identifier and receiving sponsored content information responsive to the sponsored content request. The method may further include determining that the user account has authorized communication via a user device and transmitting the electronic medication documentation and/or sponsored content information to the user device. In some examples, the method may include transmitting an indication that the electronic medication documentation and/or sponsored content information was transmitted to the user device.
