An image forming apparatus authenticates a user, transmits a request for a list of print jobs, and receives a list of print jobs transmitted in response to the request. The image forming apparatus displays on a display unit the list of print jobs received in the receiving, and in the displaying, a list of the print jobs, for which a user name of the user authenticated in the authenticating and a job owner name of the print job match, and a list of print jobs for which a job owner name is unknown is displayed.

A self-organizing, distributed printing system utilizes a plurality of digital front ends coupled to to printers and configured to periodically poll a distributed electronic ledger for a print job. Each digital front end adds a bid block to the distributed electronic ledger requesting a page range of the print job to be allocated to the digital front end for printing; and further adds a vote block to the distributed electronic ledger to approve or deny a bid block for the page range added to the distributed electronic ledger by other of the digital front ends; and further may release all or part of a page range allocated to the digital front end back to the distributed electronic ledger in response to a print failure by a printer associated with the digital front end.

An example operation method includes receiving unresolved job information about a job, requested by user identification information, from a first device, storing the unresolved job information in user data of the user identification information, receiving the user identification information from a second device, from the second device, and providing the unresolved job information stored in the user data to the second device.

An image forming apparatus includes a nonvolatile semiconductor storage device, a memory, and a processor. The processor is configured to exert control in such a manner that, when the nonvolatile semiconductor storage device is notified of deleted file data and a trim command is to be executed, even if an operation on file data stored in the nonvolatile semiconductor storage device is performed in the state in which the operation state of the image forming apparatus is set to the power-saving state, the trim command is not executed on the nonvolatile semiconductor storage device in accordance with the operation performed on file data.

An image forming apparatus includes a memory and circuitry. The circuitry is configured to generate log information including formed image information, based on a printing job; store the log information in the memory; and transfer the log information to a server that is externally provided and delete the log information stored in the memory based on determination that a predetermined condition is satisfied and that the log information is to be transferred based on the log information stored in memory.

A printing apparatus includes a reception unit configured to receive a print job, and an execution unit configured to execute printing of the print job received by the reception unit. The execution unit has a function of, in a case where a setting time or more elapses with a particular cause preventing the printing of the print job not being removed, canceling the printing of the print job. The execution unit has a function of canceling printing of a new print job received by the reception unit in a state where the setting time or more elapses with the particular cause not being removed.

An information processing apparatus includes a collection unit that collects a first history on a monitoring target device, a display unit that displays a history screen including at least a part of the first history collected by the collection unit, a receiving unit that receives an operator's operation to designate information included in the first history, on the history screen displayed by the display unit, and a generation unit that generates a second history in which the information designated by the operator is concealed, from the first history.

An information processing apparatus includes circuitry. The circuitry, as a component displayed on a screen by an application that processes tabular data, receives a print instruction for an element included in the tabular data to be printed. The circuitry generates print data corresponding to the element in response to the print instruction. The circuitry transmits the print data generated to a printing apparatus.

An image forming apparatus manages whether or not job information is displayed for each stored print job, displays notification information for notifying a user that the print job is stored if there is a print job of which the job information has not been displayed, and does not display the notification information if there is no print job of which the job information has not been displayed.

In a cloud mediation service, a server comprises an acquisition unit configured to acquire a first storage period for storing, in a first cloud service, a first job submitted to the first cloud service, and a second storage period for storing, in a second cloud service, a second job submitted to the second cloud service, and an execution unit configured to execute, based on one of a first timing at which the first job is deleted due to an elapse of the first storage period and a second timing at which the second job is deleted due to an elapse of the second storage period, a cooperation process of making a period for storing the first job in the first cloud service and a period for storing the second job in the second cloud service cooperate with each other.
