A printing control apparatus includes a filter processing portion configured to execute a first filter process of inserting a first description representing a content of processing by a first filter into description data described in a prescribed format for representing an image, and execute a second filter process of inserting a second description representing a content of processing by a second filter into the description data; and a printing data generating portion configured to interpret and convert the description data into printing data. The cloud print mediator is configured to receive a print job from the cloud printing service, submit the print job to the printer, receive status messages from the printer regarding processing of the print job, identify throttling criteria that defines one or more conditions where status notifications are allowed to be reported to the cloud printing service, and perform status notification throttling based on the throttling criteria to regulate the status notifications reported to the cloud printing service in response to the status messages received from the printer.

An information processing apparatus includes a printer driver configured to generate a print command compliant with a predetermined printing protocol based on print data obtained from a data generation application, one or more extension modules configured to generate a print command compliant with another printing protocol different from the predetermined printing protocol, a storage unit configured to store information associating the one or more extension modules to be used for generating the print command compliant with said another printing protocol with the printer driver, and an output unit configured to output the print command compliant with said another printing protocol, the print command being obtained through processing of the print data obtained by the printer driver, and the processing being performed by the one or more modules indicated by the information.
