An image forming apparatus transmits job histories that satisfy monitoring conditions to a storage service and stores job histories that do not satisfy the conditions in an information processing apparatus. When a job execution user is added to the monitoring conditions, the job history information corresponding to the added job execution user among the job histories stored in the information processing apparatus is transmitted to the storage service. The storage service manages the job history that satisfies the monitoring condition received from the image forming apparatus and notifies the administrator. When the job history information that does not meet the monitoring conditions is received, the information is notified to the administrator.

In an approach to governance of document printing, one or more computer processors receive a request from a user to print a document. One or more computer processors identify a content and a context of the document. Based on the content and the context of the document, one or more computer processors determine whether the request complies with one or more printing policies. Responsive to determining the request complies with the one or more printing policies, one or more computer processors determine one or more format attributes of the document. Based on the one or more format attributes, one or more computer processors determine whether the document format is optimized, where optimization minimizes use of one or more printing supplies. Responsive to determining the document format is not optimized, one or more computer processors provide a recommendation for optimizing the document format to the user.

A supporting program stores, in a memory, a parameter list in which identification information of a print queue implemented in an OS and print parameters are associated with each other. In the OS, a plurality of print queues for a single printer can be implemented. When one of the plurality of print queues is selected and a general-use printing program receives a printing instruction to cause the printer to perform printing, the supporting program is activated. When a printing instruction is received while one of the plurality of print queues being selected, the supporting program reads out a print parameter corresponding to the selected print queue and sets the read out print parameter as a print parameter used for printing in accordance with the printing instruction.
