Cache management in a printing system in a virtualized computing environment
A varied least recently used (VLRU) caching technique is used to enable print data to be available at a cache of a client for printing, even after an agent performs a deletion of a hash value for the print data at a cache of the agent. The deletion of the print data (cached at the cache of the client) is postponed at the client device via the use of a waiting list, so that the cached print data can be printed at a physical printer of the client, in response to receiving a delayed print job from the agent that specifies the hash value as a result of a deduplication process performed by the agent.
INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE AND METHOD, PRINT SYSTEM, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
An information processing device includes a processor configured to: transmit, to a local system, a printing screen transmission request including a list of printing devices usable by a user installed outside the local system; display a printing screen including a list of the printing devices and a list of files saved in the local system, the printing screen being received from the local system in response to the printing screen transmission request; and cause a printing device selected by the user from the printing screen to print a file selected by the user from the printing screen.
Systems, methods, and apparatus for print release to an image device from a mobile computing device
A system includes a spool directory accessible by a mobile computing device and an imaging device. A user selects for imaging on the imaging device a file accessible by the mobile computing device. The mobile computing device saves the file on the spool directory with a unique name Upon the user accessing the imaging device for imaging, the imaging device generates a unique quick response code. The user captures the code with a camera of the mobile computing device and the code is used by the mobile computing device to rename the file on the spool directory. That the imaging device knows the quick response code, the imaging device accesses and prints the file on media for the user.
PRINTING APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A control method of a printing apparatus for acquiring a print job from a cloud print service, and performing printing based on the acquired print job includes transmitting, in a case where a notification received from the cloud print service includes information indicating that a fetchable print job exists, a first request related to the print job, to the cloud print service, executing login processing of causing a user to log into the printing apparatus, and transmitting a second request related to the print job, to the cloud print service conditional upon the login processing being performed.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, SYSTEM, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM
An information processing apparatus comprises a determination unit configured to determine whether or not an instruction for printing based on a print job is given by a remote operation, and a decision unit configured to decide one of apparatuses belonging to a local network, to which the information processing apparatus belongs, as a storage destination of the print job in accordance with a result of the determination by the determination unit.
Print from web services platform to local printer
Techniques are disclosed for locally printing a print job generated by a remote web services platform. It may be that a local computer and an application of the remote web services platform that generates the print job lack a bidirectional communications link (like a VPN connection). A printer service on the web services platform presents itself as a printer to an application on the web services platform. The printer service receives a print job from the application and transmits it to a client-side print service. The client print service then sends the print job to a local printer.
Information processing apparatus and non-transitory computer readable medium for generating web page print data
An information processing apparatus includes: a receiving unit that receives print setting for a Web page from an operator; a requesting unit that requests data on the Web page by transmitting terminal information set on the basis of the print setting to a Web server that provides the data on the Web page; and a generation unit that generates print data on the basis of the data on the Web page obtained from the Web server in response to a request from the requesting unit.
Printing system, server, and print control apparatus for issuing a print command for processing a print command originating at a terminal apparatus
In a printing system, a smartphone reads a printer ID and transmits a smartphone's print command that includes the read printer ID and a user ID to a server; the server transmits a server's print command that includes the printer ID included in the received smartphone's print command to an office PC associated with the user ID included in the received smartphone's print command; the office PC creates print data based on the print job received from the server, according to the received server's print command; and a printer performs printing according to the received print data.
IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS
An image processing apparatus comprising a scanner. When the apparatus starts execution of a file output job, the apparatus confirms whether or not to be able to access a server. In a case where the apparatus could not access the server, the apparatus stops the execution of the file output job without outputting a file including image data to a designated output destination. In a case where the apparatus could access the server, the apparatus transmits a log relating to the file output job to the server before outputting the file to the designated output destination. When the transmitted log could be saved in the server, the apparatus outputs the file to the designated output destination. When the transmitted log could not be saved in the server, the apparatus stops the execution of the file output job without outputting the file to the designated output destination.
Using a Custom Printer Driver to Automatically Electronically Create, Capture and Manage all Documents Utilized in a Transaction
A plurality of electronic documents utilized in a transaction are automatically managed. For each separate document of the plurality, a custom printer driver receives instructions to a printer for printing the document. Instead of printing the document, the custom printer driver creates a file in a standard format such as PDF containing the document, based on the received print instructions. Content concerning the transaction is automatically added to at least one corresponding field of the file containing the document in the standard format. At least one electronic signature for the document is received, and automatically added to at least one corresponding location of the document in the standard format. The file containing the document in the standard format is saved with the added content concerning the transaction and the at least one electronic signature, and the saved file is associated with the transaction.
