An information processing device that performs an authentication to authenticate a user and controls operations of an image processing device based on a result of the authentication, comprising: an application that accesses the image processing device and performs a process to enable the image processing device to operate; and an authentication server that performs the authentication to authenticate the user and sends application information relating to the application to the image processing device when successfully authenticating the user through the authentication. The application generates an access request including information relating to the application and sends the generated access request to the image processing device when accessing the image processing device in response to an instruction given by the authenticated user who is successfully authenticated through the authentication.

An example image forming apparatus includes a communication device to communicate with an external apparatus, a printing engine to perform a printing job, and a processor to, based on receiving a printing request for the printing job, perform accounting processing for the printing job, and control the printing engine such that the printing job is performed. The processor, based on an error occurring in the printing job, is to control the communication device to transmit proceeding history information of the printing job and accounting information to another image forming apparatus.

A method of printing comprising, at an imaging device, receiving a print-by-reference print request and an encryption key from a mobile device, transmitting the print-by-reference print request and the encryption key to a print service, receiving encrypted print content from the print service, receiving a decryption key from the mobile device, decrypting the encrypted print content, creating decrypted print content, and printing the decrypted print content. A method of printing content requested from a mobile device, comprising receiving a print request and encrypted print content, receiving a decryption key from the mobile device, decrypting the encrypted print content, and printing the decrypted print content.

An image generation-output control apparatus in an image processing system for controlling an image generation and output operation based on an instruction received from a server in the image processing system. The image generation-output control apparatus includes second circuitry including a plurality of second image drawing information generators, each having one or more capabilities compatible with one or more capabilities of a first image drawing information generator of a first circuitry of the server, to generate second image drawing information based on output target image information acquired from the server, an identifying unit to identify generator identification information used for identifying one of the plurality of second image drawing information generators, an identification information unit including the generator identification information associated with one of the plurality of the second image drawing information generators, and the identifying unit, and an identification information manager to manage the generator identification information.

The printer (10) of the present disclosure is a printer connectable to a network (30) and an information processing terminal (20), including a control section (15) configured to: when obtaining data in accordance with the network class from the information processing terminal (20), extract a first frame based on a first communication standard used for communications between the printer (10) and the network (30), from the data; when determining that destination information included in the first frame specifies the printer (10), extract and interpret print information included in the first frame; and when determining that the destination information included in the first frame does not specify the printer (10), forward the first frame to the network (30).

According to an aspect of the disclosure, an information processing apparatus includes: an acquisition unit that acquires an add-in to add a function to a print setting application that provides a print setting window that enables a user to perform print setting used for generating print data in a printer driver; and an addition unit that adds a button instructed by the add-in to a setting window of the application by executing the acquired add-in.

An image forming apparatus includes a memory and circuitry. The circuitry is configured to generate log information including formed image information, based on a printing job; store the log information in the memory; and transfer the log information to a server that is externally provided and delete the log information stored in the memory based on determination that a predetermined condition is satisfied and that the log information is to be transferred based on the log information stored in memory.

A policy-based system is implemented to allow access to a private domain to print using a public domain. The private domain includes private servers that store documents. The public domain includes servers and a printing device. A public policy server uses a domain list and a protocol connection with a private authentication server to validate a user and identify which private domain to access. The public policy server receives requests from the printing device to process a print job of a document in the private domain. The policy-based system also determines whether printing operations may occur in a public printing service. A public print server determines whether to allow printing for a user in an organization.
