A policy-based system is implemented to allow access to a private domain to print using a public domain. The private domain includes private servers that store documents. The public domain includes servers and a printing device. A public policy server uses a domain list and a protocol connection with a private authentication server to validate a user and identify which private domain to access. The public policy server receives requests from the printing device to process a print job of a document in the private domain. The policy-based system also determines whether printing operations may occur in a public printing service. A public print server determines whether to allow printing for a user in an organization.

Provided is an information processing system capable of changing a point increase condition or method in various ways in a case of giving points depending on printing by a printing apparatus. To this end, the information processing system includes an information processing apparatus, a printing apparatus configured to print an image according to a print instruction transmitted from the information processing apparatus, and a server connected to the information processing apparatus and the printing apparatus via a network. A server disclosed herein may include a controller configured to: receive a location information request for requesting sending of location information from a function executing device; receive a first screen request including the location information from a first terminal device that has obtained the location information; send screen data representing the setting change screen to the first terminal device; receive a change request for requesting a change of the setting information from the first terminal device; and in a case where the change request is received from the first terminal device, change the setting information in the memory according to the change request.

A printing apparatus transmits user information and print data to a server system. The printing apparatus includes a reception unit and a control unit. The reception unit receives print data from an information processing apparatus. The control unit returns a response indicating authentication failure to the information processing apparatus when user information is not attached to the print data received, and transmits the print data to the server system when user information is attached to the print data.

A pull printing method and system using a cloud server when a user terminal may not use an internal wireless network are provided. A pull printing system may include a user terminal, a cloud server, and at least one print server to manage at least one image forming apparatus. In an example, the cloud server receives a registration request to register device information of the at least one image forming apparatus from the at least one print server, receives a login request comprising user information and device information of an image forming apparatus, from the user terminal, transmits the login request to a print server corresponding to the device information of the image forming apparatus, receives a job list as an authentication result according to the request, from the print server corresponding to the device information of the image forming apparatus, and transmits the job list to the user terminal.

A printing apparatus that can be used in a first type cloud printing service is provided. The apparatus comprises an instruction unit configured to receive an instruction for registering the printing apparatus, in association with a tenant that is managed in the first type cloud printing service, as a cloud printer that is used by a user belonging to the tenant, and a requesting unit configured to request, to the first type cloud printing service, to register the printing apparatus in association with the tenant based on a received instruction, wherein the instruction unit receives, even if the printing apparatus has already been registered as a cloud printer that is managed in the first type cloud printing service, an instruction for registering the printing apparatus as a different cloud printer that is managed in the first type cloud printing service.

An advertisement system issues a flyer by using a printer through communication between a tablet terminal and a posting server. The tablet terminal detects a current position and transmits current position information indicating the detected current position to the posting server. The posting server receives the current position information from the tablet terminal, and selects advertisement images based on the current position indicated by the received current position information from a plurality of advertisement images acquired from advertisers. The posting server then creates print data involved in printing the selected advertisement images, and transmits the created print data to the tablet terminal. The tablet terminal receives the print data and causes the printer to execute printing based on the received print data.

An image processing system is provided with an image processing apparatus and an information processing apparatus including an operating system and a display. When receiving a specific user's operation regarding the image processing apparatus, the information processing apparatus transmits an execution request to the image processing apparatus using a specific protocol, which is a protocol used when communicating with the image processing apparatus according to a universal image processing program incorporated in the operation system. When receiving the execution request using the specific protocol, the image processing apparatus executes a prescribed process and transmits to the information processing apparatus a URL indicating the address of a web site where a specific image processing program compatible with the image processing apparatus can be downloaded. When receiving the URL, the information processing apparatus displays a reception screen on the display for receiving an instruction to access the address indicated by the URL.
