PREFETCH STATE CACHE (PSC)
In one embodiment, a bounding box prefetch unit in a microprocessor, the bounding box prefetch unit comprising: storage comprising a plurality of active prefetcher state entries for storing state information for a corresponding plurality of access streams associated with load requests, and a corresponding plurality of prediction logic; and a prefetcher state cache comprising plural prefetcher state entries that do not match any of the active prefetcher state entries.
Storage device and operating method thereof
A storage device includes a nonvolatile memory device that includes a first area, a second area, and a third area, and a controller that receives a write command and first data from a host device, preferentially writes the first data in the first area or the second area rather than the third area when the first data is associated with a turbo write, and writes the first data in the first area, the second area, or the third area when the first data is associated with a normal write. The controller moves second data between the first area, the second area, and the third area based on the policy received from the host device.
Memory access collision management on a shared wordline
A processing device in a memory sub-system sends a program command to the memory device to cause the memory device to initiate a program operation on a corresponding wordline and sub-block of a memory array of the memory device. The processing device further receives a request to perform a read operation on data stored on the wordline and sub-block of the memory array, sends a suspend command to the memory device to cause the memory device to suspend the program operation, reads data corresponding to the read operation from a page cache of the memory device, and sends a resume command to the memory device to cause the memory device to resume the program operation.
Register File Prefetch
Techniques relating to register file prefetch are described. In an embodiment, execution circuitry causes issuance of a prefetch request to copy data from a data cache unit to a register file. Other embodiments are also disclosed and claimed.
Execution circuits using discardable state
There is provided execution circuitry. Storage circuitry retains a stored state of the execution circuitry. Operation receiving circuitry receives, from issue circuitry, an operation signal corresponding to an operation to be performed that accesses the stored state of the execution circuitry from the storage circuitry. Functional circuitry seeks to perform the operation in response to the operation signal by accessing the stored state of the execution circuitry from the storage circuitry. Delete request receiving circuitry receives a deletion signal and in response to the deletion signal, deletes the stored state of the execution circuitry from the storage circuitry. State loss indicating circuitry responds to the operation signal when the stored state of the execution circuitry is not present and is required for the operation by indicating an error. In addition, there is provided a data processing apparatus comprising issue circuitry to issue an operation to execution circuitry. The execution circuitry stores a stored state that is accessed during performance of the operation and error detecting circuitry detects an indication of an error from the execution circuitry that the stored state is required for performance of the operation and that the stored state has been deleted.
Data processing apparatus having streaming engine with read and read/advance operand coding
A streaming engine employed in a digital signal processor specified a fixed data stream. Once started the data stream is read only and cannot be written. Once fetched, the data stream is stored in a first-in-first-out buffer for presentation to functional units in the fixed order. Data use by the functional unit is controlled using the input operand fields of the corresponding instruction. A read only operand coding supplies the data an input of the functional unit. A read/advance operand coding supplies the data and also advances the stream to the next sequential data elements. The read only operand coding permits reuse of data without requiring a register of the register file for temporary storage.

Embodiments of systems, methods, and apparatuses for heterogeneous computing are described. In some embodiments, a hardware heterogeneous scheduler dispatches instructions for execution on one or more plurality of heterogeneous processing elements, the instructions corresponding to a code fragment to be processed by the one or more of the plurality of heterogeneous processing elements, wherein the instructions are native instructions to at least one of the one or more of the plurality of heterogeneous processing elements.
Memory device, method of operating the memory device, memory module, and method of operating the memory module
A method is for operating a nonvolatile dual in-line memory module (NVDIMM). The NVDIMM includes a dynamic random access memory (DRAM) and a nonvolatile memory (NVM) device, the DRAM including a first input/output (I/O) port and a second I/O port, and the second I/O port connected to the NVM device. The method includes receiving an externally supplied command signal denoting a read/write command and a transfer mode, driving a multiplexer to select at least one of the first and second I/O ports according to the transfer mode of the command signal, and reading or writing data according to the read/write command of the command signal in at least one of the DRAM and NVM device using the at least one of the first and second I/O ports selected by driving the multiplexer.
Victim cache that supports draining write-miss entries
A caching system including a first sub-cache and a second sub-cache in parallel with the first sub-cache, wherein the second sub-cache includes a set of cache lines, line type bits configured to store an indication that a corresponding cache line of the set of cache lines is configured to store write-miss data, and an eviction controller configured to flush stored write-miss data based on the line type bits.
Systems and methods for decoding error correcting codes with historical decoding information
Systems and methods are provided for decoding data read from non-volatile storage devices. A method may comprise receiving a chunk of data read from a physical location of a non-volatile storage device and searching a memory for soft information associated with the physical location using a unique identifier associated with the physical location. The soft information may be generated from one or more previous decoding processes on previous data from the physical location. The method may further comprise retrieving the soft information identified by the unique identifier associated with the physical location from the memory, decoding the chunk of data with the soft information indicating reliability of bits in the chunk of data and updating the soft information with decoding information generated during the decoding.
