The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a cosmetic or dermatological active principle, comprising the culturing of at least one nonphotosynthetic and nonfruiting filamentous bacterium on a medium comprising at least one nonsulphurous mineral and/or thermal water.

It also relates to a cosmetic or dermatological composition comprising at least one bacterium of the genus Vitreoscilla or one of its extracts.

The present invention provides a composition comprising a mud rich in various active ingredients such as natural minerals, wherein the composition has a sufficiently low viscosity so as to stably provide a sheet-type mud pack, and a mud pack comprising the same. The mud pack comprising the composition is excellent in sebum control ability and pore shrinking ability, and is very effective for improving skin smoothness.

A method of providing a treatment for cleaning and removing oils from hair includes providing a cosmetic that includes a blend of a powder phase including at least two absorbents selected from the group of mica, silica, starch, talc, kaolin and zeolite, and at least one emollient with a solvent phase. The blended powder and solvent phases are formed into a dry shampoo product adapted for manual application to the hair. A porous mold may be used to provide the cosmetic. Techniques may be applied to other forms of cosmetic compositions.

A cosmetic composition and a method for preparing the cosmetic composition are provided. The cosmetic composition includes an aqueous phase and oil phase. The aqueous phase comprises at least one water soluble ingredient including at least one non-ionic surfactant. The oil phase comprises a transformative agent, at least one thickener and at least one solvent. The transformative agent comprising at least 1% of at least one butter and at least 1% of at least one oil, the transformative agent having a butter to oil ratio of from about 2:5 to about 9:10. The cosmetic composition has a transformative texture.

Aspects described herein relate to formulations including a saline solution, reactive oxygen species, a rheology agent, an emollient, and a pH modifier and methods of using these formulations for treating, ameliorating, or inhibiting cellulite.

Disclosed are personal care formulations for delivery to the skin of a person in the form of an aerosol comprising: (1) non-propellant components comprising at least one active ingredient in the form of finely divided particles, at least one hydrophobized clay, a hydrophobic carrier comprising trans-1-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene (trans-1233zd) and at least one co-carrier wherein: (i) the weight ratio of said trans-1233zd:co-carrier is from about 0.25:1 to about 4:1; (ii) said trans-1233zd and said co-carrier together comprise at least about 40% by weight of said hydrophobic carrier.

An antidandruff composition includes about 0.1 to about 1% by weight of a natural oil containing a mixture of C12 and C14 alkyl groups derived from coconut oil; about 6% by weight of a non-ionic surfactant having at least 16 carbon atoms; about 2% by weight of an antidandruff agent; about 1.5% by weight of a cationic surfactant; about 1.5% by weight of a quaternary ammonium salt; and at least 75% by weight of water. A method of making an antidandruff composition includes combining a natural oil containing a mixture of C12 and C14 alkyl groups, a non-ionic surfactant having at least 16 carbon atoms, an antidandruff agent, a cationic surfactant, a quaternary ammonium salt, and water, forming the antidandruff composition.

The invention relates to water-in-oil (w/o) emulsion compositions for hair, eyelashes and/or eyebrows including at least one low HLB surfactant, at least one silicone gum, and at least one siloxysilicate resin, as well as to methods of making and using such emulsions. Preferably, the composition is a composition for eyelashes, for example a mascara composition further including at least one colorant.

Tattoo removal is disclosed. In an example, a method for removing tattoo ink from skin or resolving a medical condition related to tattoo ink, includes applying a primary solution of beta glucan to a treatment area having tattooed skin. The primary solution stimulates the skin in the treatment area to enhance removal of the tattoo ink from the skin. The example method also includes coating the treatment area with a secondary solution. The secondary solution may have an absorbent material to draw in loose ink. The example method also includes disrupting a skin barrier in the treatment area by a needle or ablative device to improve penetration of at least one of the primary solution and the secondary solution.
