Cloud computing infrastructure
A first node comprises a web server with a network interface configured to connect the web server to a plurality of second nodes of a cloud infrastructure. The first node has physical storage, connected to the web server, the physical storage comprising at least a master database of a multi-master database system of the cloud computing infrastructure, the master database configured to store atomic code units and data redundantly as part of the multi-master database system, the atomic code units defining the dynamic web application. The web server receives requests comprising input data and identifiers of individual ones of the atomic code units, at least some of the requests originating from client devices using the dynamic web application. The web server executes, in response to requests, individual ones of the atomic code units in dependence on state of the master database, such that the dynamic web application is executed.
METHODS, DEVICES AND SYSTEMS FOR WRITER PRE-SELECTION IN DISTRIBUTED DATA SYSTEMS
A computer-implemented method may comprise receiving proposals to mutate a data stored in a distributed and replicated file system coupled to a network, the distributed and replicated data system comprising a plurality of nodes, each comprising a server. A metadata service maintains and updates a replica of a namespace of the distributed and replicated file system and coordinates updates to the data by generating an ordered set of agreements corresponding to the received proposals, the ordered set of agreements specifying an order in which the nodes are to mutate data stored in data nodes and cause corresponding changes to the state of the namespace. For each agreement in the generated ordered set of agreements, a corresponding writers list may be provided that comprises an ordered list of nodes to execute the agreement and make corresponding changes to the namespace. The ordered set of agreements may then be sent to the plurality of nodes along with, for each agreement in the ordered set of agreements, the corresponding writers list or a pre-generated index thereto and each of the plurality of nodes may be configured to only execute agreements for which it is a first-listed node on the received writers list.
REDUCING MEMORY INCONSISTENCIES BETWEEN SYNCHRONIZED COMPUTING DEVICES
Mechanisms for reducing memory inconsistencies between two synchronized computing devices are provided. A first hypervisor module of a first computing device iteratively determines that content of a memory page of a plurality of memory pages has been modified. The content of the memory page is sent to a second hypervisor module on a second computing device. At least one other memory page of the plurality of memory pages is identified, and a verification value based on the content of the at least one other memory page is generated. The verification value and a memory page identifier that identifies the at least one other memory page is sent to the second hypervisor module on the second computing device.
Cache memory sharing in a multi-core processor (MCP)
This invention describes an apparatus, computer architecture, memory structure, memory control, and cache memory operation method for multi-core processor. A logic core shares requests when faced with immediate cache memory units having low yield or deadly performance. The core mounts (multiple) cache unit(s) that might already be in use by other logic cores. Selected cache memory units serve multiple logic cores with the same contents. The shared cache memory unit(s) serves all the mounting cores with cache search, hit, miss, and write back functions. The method recovers a logic core whose cache memory block is not operational by sharing cache memory blocks which might already engage other logic cores. The method is used to improve reliability and performance of the remaining system.
Self-healing virtualized file server
In one embodiment, a system for managing a virtualization environment comprises a plurality of host machines, one or more virtual disks comprising a plurality of storage devices, a virtualized file server (VFS) comprising a plurality of file server virtual machines (FSVMs), wherein each of the FSVMs is running on one of the host machines and conducts I/O transactions with the one or more virtual disks, and a virtualized file server self-healing system configured to identify one or more corrupt units of stored data at one or more levels of a storage hierarchy associated with the storage devices, wherein the levels comprise one or more of file level, filesystem level, and storage level, and when data corruption is detected, cause each FSVM on which at least a portion of the unit of stored data is located to recover the unit of stored data.
Server system, computer system, method for managing server system, and computer-readable storage medium
In a server system, a hardware configuration comparison is made with respect to each combination of a current server and a backup server, and, by referring to hardware configuration matching policy information, the presence or absence of hardware configuration concealment and the possibility of a take-over are determined with respect to each combination of the current server and the backup server. In addition, with respect to each combination of the current server and the backup server, a configuration matching rate indicating the ratio of hardware configuration matching is calculated. Based on information about the presence or absence of hardware configuration concealment, information about the possibility of a take-over, and information about the configuration matching rate with respect to each combination of the current server and the backup server, the backup server as a take-over destination of the current server is allocated.
Load balancing and fault tolerant service in a distributed data system
Techniques for load balancing and fault tolerant service are described. An apparatus may comprise load balancing and fault tolerant component operative to execute a load balancing and fault tolerant service in a distributed data system. The load balancing and fault tolerant service distributes a load of a task to a first node in a cluster of nodes using a routing table. The load balancing and fault tolerant service stores information to indicate the first node from the cluster of nodes is assigned to perform the task. The load balancing and fault tolerant service detects a failure condition for the first node. The load balancing and fault tolerant service moves the task to a second node from the cluster of nodes to perform the task for the first node upon occurrence of the failure condition.
SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICE AND ACCESS MANAGEMENT METHOD
A semiconductor device includes a plurality of processing units, a shared resource shared by the plurality of processing units, and a guard unit. The guard unit restricts and thereby controls access to the shared resource by a processing unit, and changes, when a processing unit has failed, control of access so that another processing unit that takes over a process of the failed processing unit is permitted to access at least a part of an access destination which the failed processing unit has been permitted to access.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANAGING DISTRIBUTED DATABASE DEPLOYMENTS
Various aspects provide for implementation of a cloud service for running, monitoring, and maintaining cloud distributed database deployments and in particular examples, provides cloud based services to run, monitor and maintain deployments of the known MongoDB database. Various embodiments provide services, interfaces, and manage provisioning of dedicated servers for the distributed database instances (e.g., MongoDB instances). Further aspects, including providing a database as a cloud service that eliminates the design challenges associated with many distributed database implementations, while allowing the client's input on configuration choices in building the database. In some implementations, clients can simply identity a number of database nodes, capability of the nodes, and within minutes have a fully functioning, scalable, replicated, and secure distributed database in the cloud.
Facility control system and facility control method
A facility control system comprises a selection processing portion that selects, based on a manual operation and when an abnormal condition occurs in a first-layer computer that executes a first-layer program which issues an apparatus operating command to an apparatus controller, whether to cause a second-layer computer to execute the first-layer program that had been executed by the first-layer computer, and a substitute command output processing portion which outputs a substitute command in accordance with selection information selected by the selection processing portion. The second-layer computer executes the first-layer program that had been executed by the first-layer computer in which the abnormal condition occurred based on a substitute command outputted by the substitute command output processing portion.
