DYNAMIC RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY BUILT-IN SELF-TEST POWER FAIL MITIGATION
20240021263 · 2024-01-18 · ·

Self-test and repair of memory cells is performed in a memory integrated circuit by two separate processes initiated by a memory controller communicatively coupled to the memory integrated circuit. To ensure that the repair process is completed in the event of an unexpected power failure, a first process is initiated by the memory controller to perform a memory Built-in Self Test (mBIST) in the memory integrated circuit and a second process is initiated by the memory controller after the mBIST has completed to perform repair of faulty memory cells detected during the MBIST process. The memory controller does not initiate the repair process if a power failure has been detected. In addition, a repair time associated with the repair process is selected such that the repair time is sufficient to complete the repair process while power is stable, if a power failure occurs after the repair process has been started.

System and method for monitoring hard disks

A system and method for monitoring hard disks includes a displaying unit, a hard disk controlling unit, and a complex programmable logic device (CPLD). The displaying unit displays status of hard disks. The hard disk controlling unit obtains statuses and outputs information as to status. The CPLD decodes the status information and determines whether the status of a hard disk is predictive failure analysis (PFA) according to the decoded signal. The CPLD controls the displaying unit to output PFA warning and delays other status displays for priority of the PFA. A method for monitoring is also provided.

DESIGN METHOD FOR IMPLEMENTING BACKPLANE LIGHTING FOR MULTIPLE NVME HARD DISKS

A method for lighting a backplane lamp of multiple NVMe hard disks is provided. The method includes: transmitting a VPP address to the backplane in a cyclic manner by the controller, and analyzing the address transmitted by the controller by a programmable logic device of the backplane after a data stream transmitted by the controller is received; transmitting, by the controller, hard disk lamp lighting information of a corresponding disk position to the programmable logic device of the backplane, if a VPP address analyzed by the backplane is the same as the VPP address transmitted by the controller; and performing logical conversion on the hard disk lamp lighting information, to convert a serial data stream on the VPP signal wires into a parallel signal, lighting a backplane lamp at a corresponding port, and uploading information of a position of the hard disk to the controller.

System and method for data error notification in interconnected data production systems

An error notification system includes a plurality of data production systems in communication with a monitoring server. Each data production system has a data processor configured to receive input data from a first set of data production systems, process the input data to produce output data, and make the output data accessible to a second set of data production systems. The monitoring server is configured to monitor data transmissions between the data production systems and to identify, for each data transmission, originating and receiving systems. The monitoring server is further configured to map data flow from each originating source system to identify all downstream data production systems. Upon identification of a data error in the originating source system, the monitoring server obtains data error information, assembles a data error notification, and transmits the data error notification to data production systems meeting system notification criteria.

A rack-mountable computer system includes: a power supply unit comprising a power storage module and a power switch module; a controller configured to generate a signal indicating status information of the rack-mountable computer system; an indicator configured to indicate the status information of the rack-mountable computer system; and a signal latch module. The power supply unit switches a power supply of the indicator from the external power supply unit to the power supply unit in a power loss event when the rack-mountable computer system is detached from a rack or a system power of the rack is lost from an external power supply unit and supplies power to the indicator after the power loss event occurs. The signal latch module is configured to latch the signal that is generated by the controller and indicates the status information of the rack-mountable computer system in response to the power loss event.

Universal debug design

Embodiments generally relate to a universal debug design which involves integrating a debug controller and a debug card with display together into a single debug design. Debug codes, such as power-on self-test (POST) codes and other error codes, are generated by various subsystems of a server-related system. The codes are transmitted to a controller, which stores the codes in memory. In some embodiments, a multiplexer outputs one debug code from the multitude of received codes, based on a user or event selecting which desired debug code should be displayed. In some embodiments, a decoder converts and sends the LED display signals to a debug card, which displays the debug code on a 7-segment LED display.
