Display driver IC and display device including the same
11482158 · 2022-10-25 · ·

A display driver integrated circuit (IC) includes a logic module sequentially issuing read commands including a first read command, a second read command succeeding the first read command, and a third read command succeeding the second read command, and memory modules connected in series with each other. A first memory module is connected to the logic module and is the closest memory module to the logic module. The first memory module receives the read commands, provide the first read command to a first memory of the first memory module, read first image data from the first memory in response to the first read command, and provide the first image data and first remaining read commands among the read commands to a second memory module which is connected to the first memory module and farther than the first memory module from the logic module.

Memory access during memory calibration
11474957 · 2022-10-18 · ·

A multi-rank memory system in which calibration operations are performed between a memory controller and one rank of memory while data is transferred between the controller and other ranks of memory. A memory controller performs a calibration operation that calibrates parameters pertaining to transmission of data via a first data bus between the memory controller and a memory device in a first rank of memory. While the controller performs the calibration operation, the controller also transfers data with a memory device in a second rank of memory via a second data bus.

METHOD OF SCHEDULING COMMANDS FOR MEMORY DEVICE AND MEMORY SYSTEM PERFORMING THE SAME
20230130884 · 2023-04-27 ·

In a method of scheduling commands for a memory device including a plurality of storage regions, a plurality of host commands used to access the plurality of storage regions are received from a host device. The plurality of host commands are queued in a first command queue. A first scheduling associated with the plurality of host commands is performed based on a mapping table and operation states of the plurality of storage regions. The mapping table includes a correspondence between the plurality of host commands and the plurality of storage regions. The plurality of host commands are executed based on a result of the first scheduling. In response to a bank collision occurring while the plurality of host commands are executed, a second scheduling associated with the plurality of host commands is performed.

Supporting responses for memory types with non-uniform latencies on same channel

Systems, apparatuses, and methods for identifying response data arriving out-of-order from two different memory types are disclosed. A computing system includes one or more clients for processing applications. A memory channel transfers memory traffic between a memory controller and a memory bus connected to each of a first memory and a second memory different from the first memory. The memory controller determines a given point in time when read data is to be scheduled to arrive on the memory bus from memory. The memory controller associates a unique identifier with the given point in time. The memory controller identifies a given command associated with the arriving read data based on the given point in time.

DELAY OF INITIALIZATION AT MEMORY DIE
20230128914 · 2023-04-27 ·

Signaling indicative of a command to initialize a plurality of memory dies of a memory device can be received by the memory device. Initialization of a memory die of the memory device can be delayed, at the memory die and based at least in part on fuse states of an array of fuses of the memory die, by an amount of time relative to receipt of the signaling by the memory device. Delaying initialization of memory dies of the memory device in a staggered or asynchronous manner can evenly distribute power consumption of the memory dies so that the likelihood of an associated power spike is reduced or eliminated.

MECHANISM TO ACCELERATE GRAPHICS WORKLOADS IN A MULTI-CORE COMPUTING ARCHITECTURE

A processing apparatus is described. The apparatus includes a plurality of processing cores, including a first processing core and a second processing core a first field programmable gate array (FPGA) coupled to the first processing core to accelerate execution of graphics workloads processed at the first processing core and a second FPGA coupled to the second processing core to accelerate execution of workloads processed at the second processing core.

Clock generation for timing communications with ranks of memory devices
11630788 · 2023-04-18 · ·

A memory controller includes a clock generator to generate a first clock signal and a timing circuit to generate a second clock signal from the first clock signal. The second clock signal times communications with any of a plurality of memory devices in respective ranks, including a first memory device in a first rank and a second memory device in a second rank. The timing circuit is configured to adjust a phase of the first clock signal, when the memory controller is communicating with the second memory device, based on calibration data associated with the second memory device and timing adjustment data associated with feedback from at least the first memory device.

Protected data streaming between memories
11630723 · 2023-04-18 · ·

Transferring data between memories may include reading data associated with a memory transfer transaction from a first memory, determining whether a bypass indication associated with the memory transfer transaction is asserted, and transferring the data from the first memory to a second memory. The transferring may include bypassing the first-processing if the bypass indication is asserted. The transferring may further include bypassing second-processing the data if the bypass indication is asserted. Following bypassing the second-processing, the data may be stored in the second memory.

DATA PROCESSING ON MEMORY CONTROLLER

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for processing data on a memory controller. One of the methods comprises obtaining a first request and a second request to access respective data corresponding to the first and second requests at a first memory device of the plurality of memory devices; and initiating interleaved processing of the respective data; receiving an indication to stop processing requests to access data at the first memory device and to initiate processing requests to access data at a second memory device, determining that the respective data corresponding to the first and second requests have not yet been fully processed at the time of receiving the indication, and in response, storing, in memory accessible to the memory controller, data corresponding to the requests which have not yet been fully processed.
