TRANSMISSION OF USB DATA IN A DATA STREAM
In a method for transfer of USB data in a data stream, which includes streaming data, the streaming data and the USB data, which includes a number of USB packets with a first number of bits, is received. The USB data is divided to create a number of transfer packets with a second number of bits of USB data. A transfer packet is inserted into the data stream, and the assembled data stream is transferred. An interruption pattern is added to at least an initial transfer packet to signal that USB data is present in the data stream.
COMMUNICATION DEVICE AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
In one example, a communication device includes a LINK that generates a first output signal on a basis of a first external signal from a first external device, outputs the first output signal to a second external device, generates a second output signal on a basis of a second external signal from the second external device, and outputs the second output signal to the first external device, in which each of the first output signal and the second external signal includes command information indicating content of a command transmitted from the first external device, final-destination-device-identification-information for identifying a final destination device of data transmitted from the first external device, internal address information indicating an internal address of the final destination device, data length information indicating a length of the data transmitted from the first external device, and data-end-position-information indicating an end position of the data transmitted.
METHOD OF AUTOMATIC IDENTIFICATION AND PROTECTION OF CORRECT PCIE CONFIGURATION OF A SERVER AND SERVER APPLYING THE METHOD
A method of automatic identification of PCIe configuration of a server and preventing operation if each slimline connector connected with a PCIe device is found connected to an incorrect slot of a mother board utilizes a combination of first and second signals of two null interfaces of the first connector as that ID signal and a combination of third and fourth signals of the two interfaces of a second connector as that ID signal. The CPLD receiving the ID signals detects whether the first and second slimline connectors are in their specified and correct slots. Powering on of computer is not permitted if incorrect connection is found, and a warning prompt is generated. A PCIe channel width for each slimline is automatically configured if no incorrect connection is found. A server applying the method is also disclosed.
Redriver to autonomously detect cable orientation
A redriver includes a plurality of channels coupled to an interface, a number of detectors coupled to the plurality of channels, and a controller that determines an orientation of the interface based on states detected by the number of detectors. The controller determines that the interface is in a first orientation when a first combination of states is detected for the plurality of channels, and determines that the interface is in a second orientation when a second combination of states is detected for the plurality of channels.
System event broadcast synchronization across hierarchical interfaces
Aspects of the invention include computer-implemented methods, systems, and computer program products that assign a centralized event tag to each communication interface of a plurality of communication interfaces of a chip interconnected in a hierarchy through the communication interfaces to a plurality of chips in a multiprocessing system. A determination is performed of whether to accept or drop a message associated with an event received at one of the communication interfaces of the chip based on comparing a local centralized event tag with a received centralized event tag. The local centralized event tag is updated based on one or more advancing rules to maintain event synchronization between the chip and the plurality of chips.
Flexible mobile device connectivity to automotive systems with USB hubs
A method to enable a vehicle's embedded USB Host system to connect to multiple mobile devices through a USB Hub, regardless of whether the mobile devices are configured to act as USB Hosts or USB Devices, without USB On the Go (OTG) controllers or additional vehicle wiring or inhibiting the functionality of any consumer devices connected to the same USB Hub. Preferably, the method is configured to provide that no additional cabling or hardware changes to accommodate this capability. The method can be employed between a vehicle's embedded USB Host, USB Hub and at least one consumer accessible USB port. When the consumer device is acting as a USB Host, signals between the consumer device and the vehicle's embedded USB Host are processed through a USB bridge, thereby rendering the consumer device compatible with the vehicle's embedded USB Host.
PCIE COMMUNICATIONS
A data processing apparatus is provided, that includes communication configured for receiving, from an origin Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) device, a translated PCIe packet comprising a destination field that comprises a physical address of a destination PCIe device. Permission circuitry transmits a permission check packet, separate to the translated PCIe packet, to a root port to determine whether the origin PCIe device has permission to access the destination PCIe device. Buffer circuitry stores the translated PCIe packet until a response to the permission check packet is received.
Power management unit
A power management subsystem included in a computer system may include a host device and a power circuit group. The power circuit group includes multiple power circuits arranged in a tree-like structure. The resources of the multiple power circuits are mapped to corresponding addresses within a common address space. The host device sends, via a first communication bus, commands to a branch power circuit of the multiple power circuits, which, in turn, relays the commands, using a second communication bus, to corresponding ones of the other power circuits based on respective power resources specified in the commands received from the host device.
BIDIRECTIONAL BYPASS MODE
Embodiments of bidirectional repeaters and communications systems are disclosed. In an embodiment, a bidirectional repeater includes a digital state machine configured to control the bidirectional repeater to operate under a functional mode or under a bypass mode and a bypass mode driver configured to automatically detect a direction of signal through input/output (I/O) terminals of the bidirectional repeater and to allow a signal to pass through the bidirectional repeater based on the direction of signal under the bypass mode.
Method, apparatus, system to enhance the device policy manager (DPM) to manage an expended USB-C ecosystem
A method and a device to participate in a managed Universal Serial Bus (USB) ecosystem. The method including establishing a connection with a plurality of devices in the ecosystem as a many-to-many relationship between extended USB device policy managers, and coordinating power and data exchange within the plurality of devices the ecosystem including at least one device that is not directly connected.
