A representation of one or more inputs to a computation is stored in a repository. The computation is assigned to one or more hosts of a plurality of hosts. A representation of program code executable to perform the computation is stored in the repository. A local copy of the one or more inputs is stored on the one or more hosts. The computation is initiated on the one or more hosts using the program code and the local copy of the one or more inputs. The computation is initiated for a plurality of keys. The computation succeeds for one or more keys after the computation has failed for one or more other keys. A representation of one or more outputs of the computation is stored in the repository.

An apparatus for multi-bitrate content streaming includes a receiving module configured to capture media content, a streamlet module configured to segment the media content and generate a plurality of streamlets, and an encoding module configured to generate a set of streamlets. A client device can detect the kernel level file event for the content item. This can be accomplished using a kernel extension on a client device that is networked with a content management system. The client device can then retrieve data associated with the content item, including an instruction for the content item. The client device can then perform the instruction. This instruction can be to retrieve collaboration data from the content management system and present the collaboration data in a file event window.

A method and system for migrating data and metadata from a first backup system to a second backup system via a content staging system is disclosed. The system accesses the backup data from the first backup system and restores it, along with the associated metadata, to a staging system. A metadata file is created at the staging system which comprises of the metadata that is to be migrated to the second backup system. The system then migrates the data from the staging system to the second backup system. The metadata is also migrated to the second backup system in a format such that it can be indexed. A method includes receiving, from a client and by a node, a commit request associated with a first datum, sending, in response to the commit request, a second commit request to a second node, wherein the second node comprises the first datum, after sending the second commit request, receiving a first cookie from the second node, making a first determination that the first cookie does not match a second cookie stored in a node cookie hash table, wherein the second cookie is associated with the second node, in response to the first determination, updating a master verifier cookie on the node to obtain an updated master verifier cookie, and sending the updated master verifier cookie to the client.
