PLANT-DERIVED EXOSOME-LIKE NANOPARTICLES INHIBIT BACTERIAL PATHOGENICITY
Provided are methods for preventing and/or treating oral diseases, disorders, and/or conditions. In some embodiments, the methods relate to administering to the oral cavity of a subject in need thereof a composition that includes an effective amount of ginger-derived exosome-like nanoparticles (GELNs) or a biologically active component thereof. Also provided are methods for preventing and/or treating periodontitis, methods for reducing growth of and/or pathogenicity of microorganisms in the oral cavities of subjects, methods for reducing microorganismal motility, and methods for reducing bone loss in the oral cavities of subjects associated with infection with microorganisms. Also provided are compositions that can be employed in the disclosed methods.
Dental Local Anesthetic Solution
The main subject of the present invention is to provide a novel dental local anesthetic solution which, when administered to an affected area in the oral cavity, can reduce unidentified complaints of a patient, especially discomfort around the oral cavity, that can be evoked after treatment.
The present invention can include, for example, a dental local anesthetic injection solution, consisting of a local anesthetic; a steroid drug; an additive; water; and optionally, a vasoconstrictor, wherein the dental local anesthetic injection solution is administered near an affected area in the oral cavity prior to dental treatment.
According to the present invention, it is possible to reduce discomfort around the oral cavity after dental treatment in patients who have undergone local anesthesia for the treatment.
Periodontal gel composition and method of use
The present invention relates to a periodontal gel composition, more particularly to a liquid composition having a low viscosity at ambient temperature, which upon warming to body temperature solidifies into a viscous gel and then releases a therapeutic agent, e.g., an antibacterial agent, in a sustained release manner; and to a method of use.
Platelet-derived growth factor compositions and methods of use thereof
A method for promoting growth of bone, periodontium, ligament, or cartilage in a mammal by applying to the bone, periodontium, ligament, or cartilage a composition comprising platelet-derived growth factor at a concentration in the range of about 0.1 mg/mL to about 1.0 mg/mL in a pharmaceutically acceptable liquid carrier and a pharmaceutically-acceptable solid carrier.
Dental topical anesthetic gel
The present invention relates to a dental topical anesthetic gel containing a full spectrum blend of active cannabinoids and at least one component including tetracaine, benzocaine, lidocaine, and butamben. Further, the dental topical gel may also contain a chemical penetration enhancer, at least one drug to enhance the effects of cannabinoids, at least one antibacterial agent and at least one antifungal agent. The forms and use of the dental topical anesthetic gel are also disclosed.
PERIODONTIC TREATMENT AND METHOD
Dental treatments and methods, including treating gum disease, using peroxide gel and a viscous antibacterial agent including tetracycline to chemically debride and curettage a treatment area. Treatments and methods include non-surgically scaling and root plaining the treatment area with dental tools such as periodontal scalers and/or curettes during the active period of the chemical debridement. The working surfaces of dental tools can be sharpened for optimal root and tooth surfacing during treatment. Treatment can include instructions for co-therapy by or on behalf of treatment subjects between visits and for maintenance care.
Treatment methods for medical and dental implants, periodontal diseases and medical procedures
Dental and medical treatments and methods, including treating gum disease, using peroxide gel and a viscous antimicrobial including a topical antibacterial agent, a topical antiviral agent, a topical antibiotic, a topical antifungal agent, a topical antiseptic agent, or a topical anti-intermicrobial agent to chemically debride and curettage a treatment area. Treatments and methods include non-surgically scaling and root plaining the treatment area with dental tools such as periodontal scalers and/or curettes during the active period of the chemical debridement. The working surfaces of dental and medical tools can be sharpened for optimal root and tooth surfacing during treatment. Treatment can include instructions for co-therapy by or on behalf of treatment subjects between visits and for maintenance care.
COMPOSITION AND METHODS FOR TREATING CANKER SORES
Oral compositions and methods of use thereof are provided herein. The oral compositions comprise a first component comprising at least one E.sub.h-raising compound and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, and a second component comprising at least one zinc compound, an anti-microbial agent and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
Preparation for Attaching to Teeth or Surrounding Part of Teeth
The present invention provides a preparation for attaching to teeth or tooth peripheries, which comprises a malleable oral composition and an active ingredient for intra-oral delivery. Further, the present invention provides a preparation for attaching to teeth or tooth peripheries, which comprises an oral composition in a hardening ointment-phase and an active ingredient for intra-oral delivery. The preparation of the present invention may give high adhesive force to the desired site in spite of gaps between teeth or curves of teeth. The preparation of the present invention having high adhesive force increases the time of adhesion to a target site in the oral cavity, and thus may be advantageous in achieving an intended effect.
COMPOSITION FOR THE TREATMENT OR PREVENTION OF INFECTIONS AND INFLAMMATIONS
This invention relates to compositions for use in the treatment or prevention of bacterial, viral or fungal infections and inflammations in the mouth. The invention further relates to compositions for use in the treatment or prevention of infections and inflammations of the skin or mucous membranes caused by HSV 1 and HSV 2 and bacterial superinfections.
