NITRIC OXIDE TOPICAL APPLICATION APPARATUS AND METHODS
A topical application of nitric oxide may be provided by two separate containers, each containing an active component media to produce nitric oxide when combined. For example, a nitrite component media may be contained in one dispenser and an acidified component media may be contained in another dispenser. Each dispenser may dispense the respective component media as a foam. The resultant foams are combined to initiate the production of nitric oxide and the mixture of foams is applied topically to treat various skin disorders or wounds.
Method for incorporating active agents into a hydrophilic polymer foam
The present invention consists of a novel process for the incorporation of one or more water-soluble active agents in a hydrophilic polymer foam. Said process makes it possible in particular to obtain a hydrophilic polyurethane foam exhibiting a gradient of active agents. This process is of particular use when manufacturing hydrophilic polyurethane foams intended for medical, cosmetic and dermocosmetic purposes.
TOPICAL COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING BIMATOPROST AND METHODS FOR STIMULATING HAIR GROWTH THEREWITH
Methods and compositions for stimulating the growth of hair are disclosed wherein said compositions include a cyclopentane heptanoic acid, 2-cycloalkyl or arylalkyl compound represented by the formula I
##STR00001## wherein the dashed bonds represent the presence or absence of a double bond which can be in the cis or trans configuration and A, B, Z, X, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are as defined in the specification and a penetration enhancer. Such compositions are used in stimulating hair growth of human or non-human animals.
STABLE ORGANIC CANNABINOID OIL BLEND FORMULATIONS
The present application is directed to thermally stable cannabinoid oil-containing topical formulations, such as lotions and balms. The formulations include sodium alginate and comprise greater than 95% USDA certified organic ingredients. These formulations may be used for dermal or transdermal application useful in the treatment of, e.g., pain. Also disclosed are methods of applying such formulations.
Systems and methods relating to medical applications of synthetic polymer formulations
Systems, methods and compositions relating to delivering synthetic polymer formulations to the body are described, which can be used by a range of medical personnel including those with minimal experience and training. Under some embodiments, the present invention relates to systems and devices for delivering polymer formulations to a body cavity (e.g. peritoneal cavity) to reduce or stop bleeding. Under some embodiments, an initial percutaneous access pathway is first formed using a delivery device with a probe and needle mechanism that automatically stops the advance of the device upon insertion into a body cavity or space, thus minimizing user error and improving patient safety. The hollow probe then allows transmission of polymer, mixed with gas and/or additional substances, from a holding chamber or canister to flow through the device and hollow probe into the patient's anatomic cavity or space of interest, stopping expansion when the device senses the appropriate pressure. Once reaching the body cavity, the polymer formulation functions to reduce and/or stop bleeding.
TOPICAL ROFLUMILAST FORMULATION HAVING IMPROVED DELIVERY AND PLASMA HALF LIFE
The present invention is directed to methods for improving the therapeutic outcome of treatment with roflumilast. The therapeutic outcome is improved by consistent delivery and/or a longer plasma half-life of a topically administered roflumilast composition. The roflumilast composition preferably includes dicetyl phosphate, ceteth-10 phosphate, diethylene glycol monoethyl ether, and/or hexylene glycol.
Pharmaceutical compositions with hydrating and lubricating activity
The present invention discloses pharmaceutical compositions comprising ester derivatives of hyaluronic acid for use as a topical treatment in disorders of the vaginal mucosa characterised by loss of elasticity and hydration, such as vaginal dryness and/or atrophic vaginitis; said compositions can also be used successfully to lubricate the genital mucosa.
STABLE PHARMACEUTICAL FOAM
Provided are pharmaceutical foam compositions comprising a peptone, a peptide hydrolysate or an enzymatically-hydrolyzed protein prepared by enzymatic hydrolysis of a full-length protein; methods of preparation and uses thereof.
Combination Therapies For Treating Cancer
Pharmaceutical compositions comprising a tyrosine kinase inhibitor and a farnesyltransferase inhibitor, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, as well as methods for preventing or treating cancer by administering the same are disclosed herein.
BETULIN-CONTAINING BIRCH BARK EXTRACTS AND THEIR FORMULATION
The present disclosure relates to birch bark extracts, methods of producing such extracts, stable pharmaceutical compositions containing such extracts and methods of using of such extracts. The birch bark extracts of the present disclosure contain triterpenes, which are known to improve wound healing.
