An image forming apparatus includes a roller, a heater configured to heat the roller, an endless belt, a nip forming member, a supply roller configured to supply a sheet, and a controller. The sheet is nipped between the endless belt and the roller. The endless belt is nipped between the nip forming member and the roller such that a nip portion is formed. The controller is configured to supply a plurality of first kind of sheets by the supply roller at a first interval when the plurality of first kind of sheets are sequentially conveyed and supply a plurality of second kind of sheets by the supply roller at a second interval greater than the first interval when the plurality of second kind of sheets belonging to a kind in which curl occurs more frequently than the plurality of first kind of sheets are sequentially conveyed.

Systems and methods are provided for ink estimation. One embodiment is a system for dynamically revising ink estimation models. The system includes a memory storing a virtual machine for instantiating virtual printers that estimate amounts of ink used by a printer for print jobs, and a controller able, for each print job, to: identify estimated amounts of ink determined by the virtual printers according to each of multiple configurations for the printer, and identify a chosen configuration and a corresponding actual amount of ink used by the printer. The controller selects a configuration, determines that estimated amounts of ink for the selected configuration have less than a threshold difference from actual amounts of ink for each of multiple print jobs, and updates an ink estimation model at the virtual machine based on the estimated amounts of ink and corresponding print job data for the selected configuration.

There is provided a control method for an information processing apparatus that stores an editing application with which editing of intermediate data including drawing data generated by a drawing application can be performed, the control method including: obtaining information associated with a print setting; deciding an interface used for obtaining the intermediate data from among a plurality of interfaces on a basis of the obtained information associated with the print setting; and obtaining the intermediate data by using the decided interface, in which the intermediate data output from the editing application is obtained by a printer driver and converted into a print command.

Systems and methods are provided for ink estimation. One embodiment is a system for dynamically revising ink estimation models. The system includes a memory storing a virtual machine for instantiating virtual printers that estimate amounts of ink used by a printer for print jobs, and a controller able, for each print job, to: identify estimated amounts of ink determined by the virtual printers according to each of multiple configurations for the printer, and identify a chosen configuration and a corresponding actual amount of ink used by the printer. The controller selects a configuration, determines that estimated amounts of ink for the selected configuration have less than a threshold difference from actual amounts of ink for each of multiple print jobs, and updates an ink estimation model at the virtual machine based on the estimated amounts of ink and corresponding print job data for the selected configuration.

An information processing apparatus includes printing control software capable of generating print data of a first format and is capable of communicating with a printing apparatus. The information processing apparatus obtains print data of a second format containing print setting information from OS-standard printing software which runs in the information processing apparatus, the second format being different from the first format, obtains a settable list, and displays a predetermined screen in a case where print setting information contained in the print data meets a predetermined condition. A screen containing information on usage is displayed as the predetermined screen where the predetermined condition is that a particular print setting is contained in the print setting information and information as an indication to display the predetermined screen is displayed in an item in the settable list corresponding to the particular print setting and the predetermined condition is met.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium stores computer-readable instructions. The instructions instruct a computer to perform processes including an acquisition step and a color chart creation step. The acquisition step includes acquiring a specified color. The color chart creation step includes creating a color chart in which a plurality of color patches are arranged. The color patches are based on the specified color acquired by the acquisition step and have a color within a color gamut that is based on print settings of a printer. The color chart creation step includes creating a first color chart and a second color chart. The first color chart is the color chart based on first print settings of the printer. The second color chart is the color chart based on second print settings of the printer different from the first print settings.

A prescribed program causes a computer to display a first display region to execute printing by using a first color adopting an ordinary color ink being an ink of a process color and a specific color ink being an ink of a color other than the process color, and a second display region being different from the first display region to execute printing by using a second color being different from the first color and adopting at least the specific color ink.

Systems and methods for bypassing a print dialog box that indicates a print confirmation, a prompt message, or a page preview, by employing a background print applet. The systems and methods may include detecting a print content to be printed by a printer, identifying one or more features of the print content, and determining one or more print settings based on the identified one or more features. The systems and methods may further include initiating the print content to be printed by the printer based on the determined print settings, whereby initiating the print content includes bypassing the print dialog box.
