A document is received and one or more text fragments are identified on a rendered page of the document. A wrapping region collection is generated, comprising one or more wrapping regions. A tabular, narrative and label score is generated for each wrapping region. A block type is assigned to each wrapping region based on the scores. A wrapping region group and a block set are generated. One or more tables are generated based on text fragments corresponding to one of the one or more blocks. The text fragments are organized into corresponding fields of the one or more tables.

An image processing apparatus that performs image processing of document data including link destination information converted to a code data image. The document data is displayed, and in a case where the code data image is detected from the document data, link destination information is extracted from the detected code data image. Whether or not to set each of the document data and information indicated by the link destination information as an object to be printed is selected by a user. Graphical element sizes and their relative positions may be analyzed to determine whether two or more graphical elements should be aggregated together or whether the graphical elements should belong to different graphical groups. Graphs and figures comprising objects that are absolutely positioned may be detected, as well as objects where inter-element positions need to be preserved from regular document flow. Additionally, background objects may be differentiated from regular text flow when the objects overlap with text.
