A print processor is provided and executes layout processing excluding reduction processing in accordance with at least a determination that a print setting causing the reduction processing is made as a print setting, and notifies a printer driver of information about the layout processing excluding the reduction processing. The printer driver scales, upon reception of the information about the layout processing excluding the reduction processing from the print processor, rendering data subjected to the layout processing excluding the reduction processing by the print processor based on a parameter included in the notified information, and generates print data to be transmitted to a printing apparatus, based on the scaled rendering data.

An image forming apparatus is configured to form and output a printed material obtained by printing image information on a printing medium. The image forming apparatus includes processing circuitry configured to acquire designation information for designating an output state of the image information; detect orientation in which the printed material is to be output, and form an output state image based on the detected orientation in which the printed material is to be output and the designation information, the output state image representing an output state of the printed material and being to be displayed on a display.

Examples of generating media modification marks based on image content are described. In some examples, modification marks for converting a two-dimensional (2D) media to a three-dimensional (3D) shape are generated based on image processing of an image. In some examples, the modification marks are applied to the 2D media.

Described herein is a computer implemented method. The method includes selecting a plurality of elements on a design page and, for each selected element, determining a plurality of edge bleed pairs, each edge bleed pair including a particular edge and a particular bleed of the design page. Each edge bleed pair is processed to determine whether the selected element should be resized, the determination being based on the position of the particular edge relative to the particular bleed. If the determination is that the element should be resized, the method involves resizing the selected element so that the element covers a greater portion of the particular bleed than was originally covered by the element.

A flatbed printer and a method for a flatbed printer are disclosed. The flatbed printer includes a print controller configured to receive a digital image intended to be printed by the flatbed printer, to receive position information entered by a parameter window of the user interface of the position of the image on the flatbed area, to receive an indication entered by the parameter window that the image has to be positioned on the media piece, to open the parameter window for entry of a set of parameters allowing to define a size of the media piece and a position of the media piece on the flatbed surface, and the image position relative to the media piece, to receive the entered set of parameters, to show the media piece and the image on the flatbed area in the preview window, and, when moving the media piece or the image over the flatbed area in the preview window, the relative position of the image with respect to the media piece is preserved.

A producing method for a print by a printing system including a printing device that is manually moved with respect to a medium to perform printing on the medium, the producing method including the printing system determining whether a print plan size of a print image is a one-pass printable size, which is a size printable in one pass by the printing device, and, when it is determined that the print plan size is not the one-pass printable size, the printing device printing the print image in the one pass.
