The present invention belongs to the technical field of gene therapy, and particularly relates to a series of lipid compounds as well as a lipid carrier, nucleic acid lipid nanoparticle composition and pharmaceutical preparation containing the same. A compound having a structure of a formula (I) provided by the present invention can be used for preparing a lipid carrier together with other lipid compounds, and exhibits pH response, and the entrapment efficiency to a nucleic acid drug is high, which greatly improves in-vivo delivery efficiency of the nucleic acid drug; and furthermore, a lipid compound with a specific structure can be chosen as a lipid carrier based on an organ in which the nucleic acid drug needs to be enriched, having a good market application prospect.

Diketopiperazine microparticles with defined specific surface areas

Disclosed herein are diketopiperazine microparticles having a specific surface area of less than about 67 m.sup.2/g. The diketopiperazine microparticle can be fumaryl diketopiperazine and can comprise a drug such as insulin.

PEDIATRIC POWDER FOR ORAL SUSPENSION CONTAINING ANTIVIRAL AGENT AND METHOD FOR THE PREPARATION THEREOF

A process for preparing a powder for reconstitution as a suspension includes the following steps: First, complexing Valaciclovir with an ion exchange resin and forming Drug-Resin complex (DRC) particles. The complexing includes Dry blending of Drug:Ion Exchange Resin in a ratio 1:0.8 to form a blend; Kneading the blend with water in a ratio of Drug:Ion Exchange Resin:Water 1:0.8:0.5 to form a wet mass; Drying of the wet mass at 40° C.
Next, milling of the Drug-Resin complex particles until particle size gets less than 250 μm, and then dry mixing of the Drug-Resin complex particles with excipients to form an internal phase. The excipients of the internal phase comprise a suspending agent and a pH agent, and the suspending agent forms a film around each DRC particle and the film decreases interparticle attraction. Next, mixing the internal phase with excipients of an external phase to form the powder, and then sifting the powder to eliminate any clumps.

Lung-targeted corticosteroid treatment in viral respiratory disease, COVID-19 and ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome)
20220339103 · 2022-10-27 ·

Provided herein are methods for treating, preventing, minimizing and/or substantially inhibiting inflammation associated with a respiratory virus such as COVID-19 and/or acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), comprising administering to the lungs of a subject, by inhalation, a composition comprising an effective amount of an active agent such as a corticosteroid (for example, loteprednol etabonate (LE)). Also provided are pharmaceutical compositions comprising an active agent, such as a corticosteroid (for example, loteprednol etabonate (LE)) in an amount effective to treat, minimize and/or substantially inhibit inflammation associated with the respiratory virus, such as COVID-19 and/or ARDS.

Supramolecular particle compositions based on medicinal natural products (MNPs), their synthetic analogs and derivatives, and methods to prepare and use them are provided. Five classes of MNPs and their derivatives including diterpene resin acid, phytosterol, lupane-type pentacyclic triterpene, oleanane-type pentacyclic triterpene, and lanostane-type triterpene form functional nano- or micro-structures that are stable to strong acidic environment and effectively penetrate the gastrointestinal tract. Therapeutic, prophylactic, or diagnostic agents that generally have poor intestinal permeability are converted to bioavailable forms when delivered with these supramolecular particles. Among many others, small compound chemotherapeutic agents and peptide therapeutics encapsulated therein have a much greater plasma concentration following oral administration, and effectively controls and treat symptoms associated with tumors or diabetes.

NOVEL FORMULATION OF MELOXICAM

The present invention relates to methods for producing particles of meloxicam using dry milling processes as well as compositions comprising meloxicam, medicaments produced using meloxicam in particulate form and/or compositions, and to methods of treatment of an animal, including man, using a therapeutically effective amount of meloxicam administered by way of said medicaments.

17-hydroxyprogesterone ester-containing oral compositions and related methods

The present invention provides for bioavailable oral dosage forms containing esters of 17-hydroxyprogesterone as well as related methods. The oral dosage forms can be formulated for pregnancy support and can include a therapeutically effective amount of an ester of 17-hydroxyprogesterone and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. In another embodiment, a pharmaceutically acceptable oral dosage form for pregnancy support is provided. The pharmaceutically acceptable oral dosage can include a therapeutically effective amount of an ester of 17-hydroxyprogesterone and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The oral dosage form can, when measured using a USP Type-II dissolution apparatus in 900 mL of deionized water with 0.5 (w/v) of sodium lauryl sulfate at 50 RPM at 37° C., release at least 20 wt % of the dose of the ester of 17-hydroxyprogesterone after 60 minutes, or in the alternative release at least 20 wt % more after 60 minutes than an equivalently dosed oral dosage form without the carrier.
