MULTI-ENTITY MANAGEMENT OF A NODE IN A WIRELESS NODE NETWORK
Methods and apparatus are disclosed for multi-entity management of an ID node in a wireless node network. The ID node associates with a first entity user access device, which operates as a master node and communicates directly with a server over a first communication path. The first device separately communicates with the ID node over a second communication path, but the ID node is unable to directly communicate with the server. The ID node provides the first device with access to data collected by the ID node if an initial privilege authorizes it. After associating with a shipping entity master node, the ID node provides the shipping entity master node with the data collected based on a transferred privilege from the server. And then after associating with a second entity user access device, the ID node provides access to this second device if authorized by a destination privilege from the server.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING POWER TO A MULTI-PURPOSE TRANSACTION CARD
A controller of a transaction card may cause the transaction card to be in a first state. The transaction card may include a battery and at least one other component. In the first state, the battery does not provide power to the at least one other component of the transaction card. The transaction card may receive a signal from a near-field communication (NFC) device and may cause the transaction card to be in a second state based on receiving the signal. In the second state, the battery provides power to the at least one other component of the transaction card. The transaction card may perform a transaction based on the transaction card being in the second state.
Systems and methods for operating a tag
Systems and methods for operating a Radio Frequency Identification (“RFID”) tag. The methods comprise: monitoring a level of Radio Frequency (“RF”) energy being received by the RFID tag; performing operations by a circuit of the RFID tag to compare the level of RF energy in a given frequency band to a first threshold value; and transitioning an operational mode of the RFID tag from a first operational mode in which a receiver is disabled to a second operational mode in which the receiver is enabled, when the level of RF energy exceeds the first threshold value. The RFID tag is able to communicate with a remote tag reader when the RFID tag is in the second operational mode and not when the RFID tag is in the first operational mode.
INTERNAL VOLTAGE GENERATOR AND SMART CARD INCLUDING THE SAME
An internal voltage generator of a smart card and a smart card including the same. The internal voltage generator may include: a mode detector that generates a mode signal indicating a contact mode or a contactless mode; a low-drop out (LDO) regulator including an error amplifier, where the LDO regulator is responsive to the mode signal to: in the contact mode, drive the error amplifier with a second driving voltage to generate an error voltage, and regulate the second driving voltage based on the error voltage to generate a first output voltage, and in the contactless mode, drive the error amplifier with the first driving voltage to generate the error voltage, and regulate the second driving voltage based on the error voltage to generate the first output voltage.
WIRELESS COMMUNICATION BETWEEN ELECTRONIC DEVICES IN CLOSE PROXIMITY
An electronic wireless communication device is provided, comprising: a wireless communication means for communicating with a wireless communication initiating device; means for monitoring a communication signal received by the wireless communication means; means for sending at least a first characteristic value relating to the communication signal received by the wireless communication means to at least one other electronic wireless communication device; means for receiving at least a further characteristic value relating to a communication signal received by the at least one other electronic wireless communication device; and processing means for carrying out a comparison based on the first characteristic value and the further characteristic value, wherein the electronic wireless device is configured to selectively activate communication with the wireless communication initiating device based on the result of the comparison. A system and method is also provided for communicating between an electronic wireless communication device of a plurality of electronic wireless communication devices and a wireless communication initiating device that can read one of the electronic wireless communication devices.
Multiple interface electronic card
A device includes a first inductor and a second inductor. The first inductor has a first inductive coupling profile. A first circuit component is coupled to the first inductor. A second inductor has a second inductive coupling profile. A second circuit component coupled to the second inductor.
Systems and methods for performing payment transactions
A system for performing payment transactions includes a wearable payment device, such as a finger ring worn by a user, that communicates payment data to a payment reader that uses the payment data in order to request a payment transaction. The system also includes a mobile communication device that receives an input associated with the payment transaction from the user and wirelessly transmits information to the wearable payment device based on the input. The wearable payment device can use the information from the mobile communication device for performing the payment transaction and transmit at least a portion of the information from the mobile communication device to the payment reader during the payment transaction.

Wireless communication between electronic devices in close proximity
A method of communicating between a first electronic communication device of a plurality of electronic communication devices and a wireless communication initiating device for reading the first electronic communication device. The method comprises receiving, at the first electronic communication device, a communication signal from the wireless communication initiating device and determining a first characteristic value relating to the communication signal. The method further comprises receiving at least a second characteristic value relating to a communication signal received by at least a second electronic communication device that is connected to the first electronic communication device and initiating communication with a reading device based on the first and second value.
