A card is provided, such as a credit card or security card, that may transmit information to a magnetic stripe reader via a magnetic emulator. The emulator may transmit the information in order to reduce the amount of circuitry needed to emulate a particular block of information. Additionally, for example, one or more buttons may be included on the card. Buttons may be includes, for example, to provide a control interface to navigate through various options of the card. Additionally, coding schemes may be selected via buttons. Furthermore, a card may be locked until a private number is entered into a card or a number may only be generated (e.g., displayed and/or emulated) once a particular private number is entered into a card.

INDUSTRIAL PRINTER

A high speed tabletop and industrial printer is disclosed with integrated high speed RFID encoding and verification at the same time. The industrial printer simultaneously prints on and electronically encodes/verifies RFID labels, tags, and/or stickers attached to a continuous web. The industrial printer comprises a lighted sensor array for indexing the printing to the RFID tags; and a cutter powered from the industrial printer for cutting the web that the RFID tags are disposed on. The industrial printer comprises two RFID reader/writers that are individually controlled. Specifically, one of the RFID reader/writers comprises the ability to electronically encode the RFID tags while the web is moving; and the second RFID reader/writer uses an additional RFID module and antenna on the printer for verifying the data encoded to the RFID tags.

Cards and devices with multifunction magnetic emulators and methods for using same

A payment card (e.g., credit and/or debit card) is provided with a magnetic emulator operable of communicating information to a magnetic stripe reader. Information used in validating a financial transaction is encrypted based on time such that a validating server requires receipt of the appropriate encrypted information for a period of time to validate a transaction for that period of time. Such dynamic information may be communicated using such an emulator such that a card may be swiped through a magnetic stripe readeryet communicate different information based on time. An emulator may receive information as well as communicate information to a variety of receivers (e.g., an RFID receiver).

Smartdust chip

Disclosed is a SmartDust system for contactless digital controlled serialized analog processing of analog values received from an object. The SmartDust system includes a hub unit and at least one electronic circuitry capacitive coupled to the hub unit. The hub unit includes an oscillator for generating a frequency, and a first electrode connected to the oscillator to emit the frequency as an alternating electric field. The electronic circuitry stores and performs switching instructions and the digital logic operations. The electronic circuitry receives analog values and generate sampled and processed analog values. The electronic circuitry provides the processed values to external components. The hub unit includes a controller for providing the switching instructions and the digital logic operations to the electronic circuitry, and a modulator for modulating the alternating electric field with the switching instructions and the digital logic operations.
