Enhanced Security for Contactless Access Card System
20210390805 · 2021-12-16 ·

An access card may store an encrypted operation key and a key used to read the encrypted operation key from the access card. The encrypted operation key and the key may be based on a unique identifier (UID) of the access card. The encrypted operation key may be obtained by encrypting an operation key using a cryptographic key that is also based on the UID of the access card. An access card reader may read the UID from the access card and use it to generate the key used to read the encrypted operation key from the access card. The access card read may also use the UID read from the access card to generate a cryptographic key used to decrypt the encrypted operation key. The access card reader may validate the decrypted operation key and determine whether to grant or deny access, for example, via an access control device.

Method for protecting an integrated circuit module using an antifuse, and corresponding device

An integrated circuit includes a circuit module storing sensitive data. An electrically conductive body at a floating potential is located in the integrated circuit and holds an initial amount of electric charge. In response to an attack attempting to access the sensitive data, electric charge is collected on the electrically conductive body. A protection circuit is configured to ground an output of the circuit module, and thus preclude access to the sensitive data, in response to collected amount of electric charge on the electrically conductive body differing from the initial amount and exceeding a threshold.

Memory card locking device

A memory card locking device is provided. The memory card locking device includes an external card reader having a card slot in which a memory card is allowed to be inserted. The external card reader includes a main controller. The main controller is configured to receive a locking instruction from an application, and execute a locking program on the memory card to lock the memory card according to the locking instruction. When the memory card is locked, any device other than the external card reader cannot read and identify the memory card, and thus cannot look up and access data stored in the memory card.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR OVERMOLDING A CARD TO PREVENT CHIP FRAUD

The present invention relates to a document comprising at least one RFID transponder, the RFID transponder comprising an antenna (3, 23) and an integrated circuit (4, 24) electrically coupled to the antenna (3, 23). The document comprises at least one detachable detuning element (7, 27) electrically coupled to the antenna (3, 23). The in-vention also relates to a method for manufacturing a document comprising an RFID transponder.

RFID integrated circuit identifier self-check
11341343 · 2022-05-24 · ·

A Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag IC stores an identifier and a check code. The IC determines whether the stored identifier is corrupted by comparing it to the check code. If the stored identifier does not correspond to the check code then the IC may terminate operation or indicate an error. The IC may also reconstruct the correct identifier from the check code.

Protection of personal data contained on an RFID-enabled device

A system for protecting personal data contained on an RFID-enabled device, suitable for use with an RFID system including an RFID reader configured to extract information from an RFID chip associated with the RFID-enabled device, includes a personal data protection system including a personal data protection device configured to prevent reading of the RFID chip associated with an RFID-enabled personal item.

Physical card enabling utilization based on location
11734673 · 2023-08-22 · ·

There are provided systems and methods for a physical card having one or more location detection modules A physical payment card may include one or more components to limit card reading of card data stored to the card using a location detection chip. The location detection chip may receive power from a source when inserted to a card reader, and may then determine a location of the card, such as a coordinate location of the card or nearby detected device. The location detection chip may determine if this location or device matches authorized locations stored in a memory of the card. If it does, power may be provided to a card chip of the card. The card chip of the card reads card data from a memory of the card and may then output the card data to the card reader.

IC CARD, PORTABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICE, AND ISSUING DEVICE

According to an embodiment, an IC card associated with a parent IC card includes a sensor, a first storage unit, a second storage unit, a communication unit, and a processor. A sensor is configured to acquire biological information. The first storage unit is configured to store a template with which the biological information is verified. The second storage unit is configured to store second data related to first data stored in the parent IC card. The communication unit is configured to transmit and receive data to and from a host device. The processor is configured to authenticate a user based on a verification result of the biological information and the template in accordance with a command from the host device, and transmit at least some of the second data to the host device if the authentication of the user is successful.
