In a method of producing a transponder (T1, T2, T3), a substrate (1, 91) is provided. The substrate (9, 91) comprises a first area (2), a second area (3) adjacent to the first area (2), and a first electric contact (8, 98) adjacent to the second area (3). An electric device (50, 80) is placed in or on the first area (2), preferably without touching the first electric contact (8, 98). Subsequently, a conductive glue (12) is applied on the second area (3) and on the first electric contact (8, 98) so that the conductive glue (12) electrically couples the first electric contact (8, 98) with the electric device (50, 80).

Prepaid, debit and credit card security code generation system
09727759 · 2017-08-08 · ·

This invention is a comprehensive “Dynamic Security Code” (“DSC”) System (“DSC System”) that can change the security code of a prepaid, debit, or credit card (“Payment Card”). In an effort to thwart Card-Not-Present (“CNP”) fraud, the DSC System provides dynamic security code values (“DSC Values”) that have a limited use. The DSC Values provided by this DSC System can be calculated by various methodologies and can be used within existing standard payment card infrastructures. The DSC System can also be used with other form factors and in other environments not related to payments such as balance inquiries. The DSC Values can be calculated by a DSC Generator Server or on the card itself.

SMART CARD FOR RECOGNIZING FINGERPRINT

A smart card includes a card body, a transmission unit, a fingerprint sensor, a processing unit and a cover layer. The card body is formed with a cavity. The transmission unit is disposed on the card body, and outputs electricity. The fingerprint sensor is connected to the transmission unit, is accommodated in the cavity, and generates a detection signal after receiving the electricity. The processing unit is disposed in the card body, is connected to the transmission unit and the fingerprint sensor, and performs signal processing on the detection signal after receiving the electricity. The cover layer is disposed in the cavity and covers the fingerprint sensor.

REMOVABLY SUSTENDED ELECTRONICALLY ADDRESSABLE OBJECT AND SYSTEM
20170270469 · 2017-09-21 ·

An electronically addressable object carrier for enabling the management of removably suspended objects, such as keys, distributed in an object location space, The object carrier includes a housing having an object retention element for securing an object to the object carrier and at least one through aperture for removably receiving an electrically conductive suspension member capable of manifesting object address signals and power signals supplied by a source; a microcontroller carried by the housing, the microcontroller having a unique object address serving to identify an object secured to the object carrier; an electrically conductive element located in the at least one aperture for electrically coupling the microcontroller to the electrically conductive suspension member when the aperture is removably received on the electrically conductive suspension member; and a visible indicator coupled to the microcontroller for activation whenever the microcontroller receives an address signal representative of the unique object address. Two electrically conductive elements can be used: one having first and second electrically conductive members slidably and oppositely disposed in a single aperture and bias means for urging the first and second electrically conductive members toward each other to make contact with an electrically conductive suspension member when the carrier is mounted. Another being a pair of washers mounted in spaced first and second apertures in the housing. In use, the devices are removably suspended by one or two electrically conductive suspension members secured to a support element, such as the back board of a cabinet.

MULTIMODE SMART CARD SYSTEM WITH EMBEDDED USB CONNECTIVITY
20170270399 · 2017-09-21 · ·

Techniques are disclosed for systems and methods to conduct transactions using a Multi-mode Card. A Multi-mode Card may include various components of a Smart Card and be configured to interface directly with a personal electronic device (e.g., a smart phone, a tablet computer, a personal computer, and/or other personal electronic devices) to confirm presence of the Multi-mode Card in an unattended digital transaction, such as for e-commerce and Internet purchases. A transaction system may include a logic device and an interface embedded in or on the Card, a client device such as a personal electronic device, and a server configured to provide a sales interface to a user through the client device. The logic device in the Card may be configured to authorize, encrypt, and/or otherwise facilitate a transaction involving a sale and/or other type of communication between the client device and the server.

Split transaction physical payment instrument
11250406 · 2022-02-15 · ·

Embodiments of systems and methods are provided for a split transaction payment instrument configured to automatically split transactions between a plurality of accounts. The split transaction payment instrument may interact with one or more other payment instruments. The split transaction payment instrument may, based on the interaction, accordingly identify that the transaction is a split transaction to a point of sale device and provide data identifying accounts associated with the split transaction payment instrument and the other payment instruments for splitting of the transaction. A service provider may receive transaction data associated with the transaction and process the transaction by accordingly splitting payment between the accounts.

SCANNER, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR A SCANNER IMAGING ILLUMINATION FILTER
20210406493 · 2021-12-30 ·

A scanner is provided having an integrated or retrofitted amber filter placed in front of white illumination LEDs. When an object/item is placed within a field of view of a lens of the scanner, the white illumination LEDs are illuminated and pass through the amber filter, which filters out light in the light spectrum of approximately 340-500 nm. The object/item is illuminated with light approximately above 500 nm and reflected back through a portion of the lens that covers an imaging sensor resulting in an object/item image in the light spectrum approximately above 500 nm, which improves the user experience by removing the glaring blue light component of the white LEDs illumination while not impacting the performance of the object/item recognition when processed for a transaction being conducted at a transaction terminal that is interfaced to the scanner.

DYNAMICALLY LINKING MACHINE-READABLE CODES TO DIGITAL ACCOUNTS FOR LOADING OF APPLICATION DATA
20210406868 · 2021-12-30 ·

There are provided systems and methods for dynamically linking machine-readable codes to digital accounts for loading of application data. A user may engage in a transaction with another user, such as a purchase of goods, services, or other items a merchant using a physical payment card. A machine-readable code may be provided on the payment card, where the machine-readable code may be dynamically linked to underlying data with an online transaction processor. The user may provide the payment card to another user that may capture the machine-readable code on the payment card. The other user's device may then utilize the machine-readable code with the online transaction processor to perform an account lookup using database information dynamically linked to the machine-readable code. Thereafter, the other user's device may automatically load account data for the account without having the user enter the account's identifier.
