Secure transactions for in-flight entertainment systems
Disclosed are devices, systems and methods for performing secure transactions in an aircraft are disclosed. Embodiments of the disclosed technology enable low cost carriers to provide payment verification for on-board purchases via the in-flight entertainment system. An exemplary method for performing secure transactions in an aircraft includes transmitting, by a user device in the aircraft using a wireless protocol, a first authentication factor and a request for one or more on-board services; receiving, from an on-board transceiver using the wireless protocol, an authentication token (a) comprising a one-time code and (b) encrypted using an asymmetric cryptographic algorithm; transmitting, using the asymmetric cryptographic algorithm, a second authentication factor comprising (a) the authentication token and (b) a text message transmitted from the user device; and receiving a confirmation of a delivery of the one or more on-board services.
SOLID-STATE MINIATURE ATOMIC CLOCK AND METHODS OF USE
Solid-state miniature atomic clock (SMAC) within the form factor of an integrated circuit chip (aka microchip) or flexible device. The present invention includes architectures and methods of manufacture of SMACs. SMACs may include one or more vias, with some or all of the vias containing or other material suitable for an antenna. In addition, the SMAC may include a heating device for temperature stabilization.
LABOR-BASED BLOCKCHAIN
Techniques are described herein to allow for the utilization of digital currencies in a resource efficient manner, through a labor-based blockchain. The labor-based blockchain allows for verification of physical labor. Such a blockchain thus allows for verification of physical labor utilizing data appended to the blockchain or referenced by the blockchain.
Systems and methods for setting spend limits and counteracting fraud in gas station transaction
The disclosed technology relates to Spend Limit Systems for gas-station refuel transactions. An exemplary system may receive vehicle information identifying a customer's vehicle and identify associated vehicle characteristics (e.g., gas tank size). The system may identify a known gas-station transaction geographic region for the customer. When the customer (or a fraudster) attempts to purchase gas, the system may receive a transaction request and, in response, set a single transaction limit sufficient to fill the gas tank size with gas and an associated spend limit. The system may also determine whether the merchant location falls within the known gas-station transaction geographic region. When it does, the system may approve the transaction request up to the spend limit. Otherwise, the system may perform one or more fraud prevention actions to authenticate the customer and either approve or deny the transaction request up to the spend limit and/or selectively perform fraud mitigation action(s).
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY STORAGE MEDIUM
An information processing apparatus including a controller configured to perform: obtaining a current location of a user; obtaining a destination of the user; outputting guidance to the destination; obtaining information corresponding to the destination; determining, based on the destination and the current location, that the user has arrived at the destination; and switching from outputting the guidance to the destination to outputting the information corresponding to the destination, when the user has arrived at the destination.
TOUCHLESS AUTHENTICATION AT RESOURCE DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS
Touchless/contactless user authentication is provided at apparatus requiring user authentication. The user authentication credentials are input or otherwise communicated to the apparatus absent the need to physically contact the input mechanisms of the apparatus or the display of the user communication device. The user communication device is equipped with motion sensing mechanisms configured to detect a preconfigured user gesture, which is either preconfigured to be associated with specific user authentication credentials or serves as the user authentication credentials. Monitoring for the preconfigured user gesture is initiated by a triggering event, which may include co-location of the user communication device and the apparatus or short-range wireless communication between the user communication device and the apparatus.
Open loop transit system with a backend system
A backend system of an open loop transit system, includes at least one billing module configured to bill a completed trip at least based on a received start data set, a received end data set and a fixed preset tariff datum, wherein the start data set and the end data set each contains the same medium identification reference determined from the electronic medium identification of a ticket medium detected by at least one validator device and at least one transport information datum, at least one dynamic tariff determination module configured to determine a current tariff datum based on a requested trip datum and at least one tariff criterion, at least one output module configured to output the current tariff datum, and at least one storage module configured to store a journey data set containing the requested trip datum, the outputted current tariff datum and a medium identification reference.
UNIVERSAL FARE PAYMENT AND COLLECTION SYSTEM
A universal fare payment and collection system configured to allow users to purchase tickets and/or passes for a plurality of public transport authorities using a single account or device. The system is configured to detect a first ticketing technology of a first nearby transportation system, configure the traveler's electronic device for authorizing at least one of a ticket and a pass via the first ticketing technology, detect a second ticketing technology of a second nearby transportation system, the second ticketing technology being different from the first ticketing technology, and configure the traveler's electronic device for authorizing at least one of a ticket and a pass via the second ticketing technology.
Beacon-triggered activation of a near field communication application
An automated method is provided for activating a NFC application in a mobile interface device. In this method, the device receives from a beacon a wireless beacon signal comprising at least one beacon identifier. The wireless beacon signal is processed by the mobile interface device to determine the at least one beacon identifier. The mobile interface device determines based on the at least one beacon identifier, whether to activate the NFC application. Responsive to a determination that the NFC application should be activated, the mobile interface device transitions the NFC application from a passive state to an active state. NFC communication is then established between the mobile interface device and at least one NFC transmitting device disposed within a beacon range volume defined by the beacon location and the beacon range.
Systems and methods for telematics data marketplace
A telematics data marketplace (TDM) computing device including a processor in communication with a memory device is provided. The processor may be configured to: (i) receive registration data from a provider, wherein the registration data includes desired user data sets and an associated purchase price, (ii) retrieve, from the memory device, user data associated with a plurality of users, wherein the user data includes at least telematics data, (iii) match the provider to one or more users of the plurality of users based upon the user data associated with the users matching the desired user data sets of the provider, (iv) prompt the matched users to allow the provider access to the user data for the purchase price, (v) transmit the user data of the matched users to the provider, and (vi) provide the matched users with a reward corresponding to the purchase price of the desired user data set.
