TUNING OF RELEASE KINETICS IN HYDROGELS
The present disclosure is directed to methods for tuning the release profile of a biologic disposed in a hydrogel. Parameters that can be used for the tuning include a molar ratio of a nucleophilic group to an electrophilic group, the number of the nucleophilic groups in the first precursor, the number of the electrophilic groups in the second precursor, the molecular weight of the first precursor, the molecular weight of the second precursor, a weight ratio of the biologic and excipient to the hydrogel, a weight percentage of the biologic in a solid state formulation, and a ratio of surface area to volume of the hydrogel. The methods described herein allow the formation of hydrogel with different release profiles suitable for different therapeutic applications.
METAL (HYDR)OXIDE COMPOSITE COMPRISING POORLY SOLUBLE DRUG, METHOD FOR PREPARING SAME, AND PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION COMPRISING SAME
The present invention relates to a metal (hydr)oxide composite comprising a poorly soluble drug, a method for preparing same, and a pharmaceutical composition comprising same.
Particles comprising a therapeutic or diagnostic agent and suspensions and methods of use thereof
The invention provides particles, compositions including the particles, and methods of making the particles using electrospray. In certain embodiments, the particles allow for high concentrations of a therapeutic or diagnostic agent to be delivered at low viscosity. Particles may also exhibit beneficial properties with respect to stability.
Granular Pharmaceutical Composition
The present invention relates to a granular pharmaceutical composition obtained by coating a nucleus with: (1) a layer containing a material having a damp-proofing function, and (2) a drug layer containing linaclotide, a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, or a hydrate thereof, and (3) a layer containing a material having a damp-proofing function. Also, the present invention relates to a method for manufacturing the granular pharmaceutical composition obtained by coating the nucleus with (1) the layer containing the material having a damp-proofing function, (2) the drug layer containing the linaclotide, the pharmaceutically acceptable salt, or the hydrate thereof, and (3) the layer containing the material having a damp-proofing function.
Particle Coating Method
A method of producing a particle coating on one or more items is provided. The method comprises mixing supercritical carbon dioxide with a solution comprising dissolved material for forming particles. The method further comprises spraying the mixture into a precipitation chamber (316) to precipitate particles, wherein the chamber is at a pressure below a supercritical pressure of the supercritical fluid. The method also comprises capturing the precipitated particles on one or more items located within the chamber.
Spray dried compositions having different dissolution profiles and processes for their preparation
The present disclosure provides compositions having different dissolution profiles. In particular, the compositions are formulated by adjusting the types and/or amounts of excipients and/or surfactants, and the compositions are prepared by spray drying processes.
Polyphenolic polymer to make water-insoluble molecules become water-soluble
The subject invention relates to compositions of a polyphenolic Polymer and methods useful for the delivery of substantially water-insoluble drugs and agrochemicals, like Artemisinin, Aspirin, and Pyrethrin. The use of specific composition and preparation conditions enables the reproducible production of unusually water-soluble formulation, which can be sterile-filtered. The particulate system produced according to the invention can be converted into a re-dispersible dry powder comprising nanoparticles of drug. The innovation is also based on the fact that complementary polyphenolic partner is also an active drug but may have a different mode action with respect to primary molecule of the hybrid drug. The complementary polyphenol molecule has multiple properties like antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, cox-2 inhibitors, etc. This results in a unique delivery system, in which part of the pharmacologically active agent is readily bioavailable. More important the whole process and material used is GRAS approved and environmentally safe.
Treatment method for colon cancer
The invention pertains to a method for treating a neoplasm, such as colorectal cancer, using hollow silica spheres (“HSS”). It also is directed to a method for making uncalcined HSS, calcined HSS from which phenyl groups have been removed, and HSS incorporating particles of Fe.sub.3O.sub.4, as well as compositions containing HSS.
REACTION DEVICE, MICROSPHERE PREPARATION DEVICE AND EXTRACTION METHOD AND LIPOSOME DRUG LOADING METHOD
Disclosed is a reaction device, comprising: a reactor body (100) and a supply device (200), wherein the reactor body (100) has a first end (106) and a second end (107) and is used for accommodating a reaction liquid, with a first injection port (101) being provided between the first end (106) and the second end (107), and a discharge port (109) being provided at the second end (107); and the supply device (200) is in communication with the first injection port (101) to inject a continuous phase, wherein the continuous phase directionally flows in the reactor body (100) to form or maintain a parameter gradient in the reactor body (100). By means of injecting the continuous phase into the first injection port (101) on the reactor body (100), the solution presents a certain parameter gradient on two sides of the first injection port (101) in the reactor body (100).
Pharmaceutical formulations
A free-flowing solid pharmaceutical formulation comprising one or more active ingredients and a blend comprising sorbitol and liquid paraffin, a package containing the formulation, a process for the manufacture of the formulation and the use of the blend in the formulation.
