Method and apparatus for identifying when an individual is in proximity to an object
An apparatus for identifying when an individual is in proximity to an object having a length has a sensor portion having a wire loop through which electric current runs and creates an electromagnetic field that emanates about the wire loop. The wire loop extending along at least a third of the length of the object. The apparatus has a personal alarm device that is worn by the individual which detects the presence of the magnetic field emanating from the wire loop when the personal alarm device is in the magnetic field and produces a signal indicating the personal alarm device is within the magnetic field. Alternatively, the sensor portion extends from a contiguous boundary up to 500 meters, where the boundary has a geometry that is linear or meandering. A head piece for an individual's head. A method for identifying when an individual is in proximity to an object. A field extension module. A proximity device.
Reduction of theft in a venue based on a dynamically updated high-shrink item library
Systems and methods are described for detecting theft events based on a dynamically updating high-shrink electronic item library. In various aspects, a server is associated with an onsite venue containing several items. The server is in communication with an electronic item library, where the server dynamically updates the electronic item library based on theft events associated with items of the onsite venue. The server further associates one or more shrink categories of the electronic item library with the items, where one of the shrink categories may be a high-shrink category. Detector station(s), located within the onsite venue, are configured to track a high-shrink item within the onsite venue, where the high-shrink item belongs to a high-shrink category of the electronic item library.

ON-METAL RFID TAG
A radio frequency identification (RFID) tag including a face stock layer, an antenna inlay beneath the face stock layer and comprising a radio frequency (RF) antenna and an integrated circuit (IC) chip, a spacer layer beneath the antenna inlay, and a metal ground plane. The antenna inlay may include a near-field communication (NFC) or high frequency (HF) antenna, and optionally may include an ultra-high frequency (UHF) antenna. The spacer may be made of a flexible polypropylene, and the metal ground plane may be made of aluminum.

Coded tags encoded using different magnetic materials and systems and methods of detecting coded tags
A method includes printing a first magnetic material onto a substrate. The first magnetic material has a first magnetic characteristic and encodes first information based on the first magnetic characteristic. The method further includes printing a second magnetic material onto the substrate. The second magnetic material encodes second information and has a second magnetic characteristic different from the first magnetic characteristic. The second information is encoded based on the second magnetic characteristic.
System and method of processing documents to provide document history and compliance control
This disclosure provides a document management method and system to monitor activity associated with a processed document according to an exemplary embodiment of the disclosure, the document management system is configured to apply security controls to a document and provide a full organizational audit history of documents processed.
INDUCTIVE SYSTEM FOR DATA TRANSMISSION/RECEPTION BY MEANS OF LOCKING THE GENERATION OF HARMONICS ON A FERROMAGNETIC CORE
The system performs communication between two systems, a master system, that creates an alternating magnetic field by means of which it dialogues with one or more slave systems, which respond at frequencies other than those generated by the master by a non-linear magnetic core generating harmonics of higher order than those of the magnetic field created by the master. The generation of harmonics is controlled by the slave by a short-circuit coil which enables the data transmission from the slave to the master. The slave system can have its own power supply or it can be powered by the short-circuit coil. This allows microcontrollers in the slaves to be powered and give them intelligence and a large storage capacity, making them ideal for control security and monitoring processes. The excitation frequency can be varied because the functionality of the slaves does not depend on the frequency of the exciter field.
Systems and methods for a smart electronic article surveillance circuit
Systems and methods for a smart electronic article surveillance (EAS) circuit that may be incorporated into electronic devices and used to selectively provide EAS and other functionalities. Such functionalities may be provided by sharing large electrical components across the different functionalities, which may include passive EAS capabilities, inductive charging, and/or wireless communications. One or more software or solid-state switches may be used to selectively and repeatedly change between the wireless communication/inductive charging capabilities and the passive EAS capabilities. The EAS functionality may be provided by using a switch to connect passive circuitry across an antenna component to form a passive EAS circuit. The non-EAS functionality may be provided by using the switch to de-couple the passive circuitry from then antenna and instead, couple the antenna to other electronic circuitry.
LINE GUIDE DEVICE WITH ELECTRICAL DETECTION OF DETERIORATION AND RADIO CIRCUIT FOR SAME
The invention concerns an active line guide like for example an energy guiding chain with detection of deterioration. An apparatus for detection of deterioration in a critical region of at least one portion of the line guide is in the form of a radio circuit and is distinguished by a transponder and at least one detector element which cooperates with the transponder and which is so arranged that the detector element changes the behaviour of the transponder at a predetermined amount of deterioration wear in the critical region. In that way a change due to wear, for example due to abrasion wear, cracking and/or fatigue breakage, can be detected wirelessly, that is to say in contact-less fashion. A corresponding system and a method as well as a detection module for original fitment or retro-fitment to an active line guide having a function for detection of deterioration are proposed. A radio circuit is also disclosed for particularly reliable detection of deterioration.
