SECURITY TAG FOR LOSS PREVENTION
The present disclosure relates to security tags for an electronic article surveillance system deployed in a retail environment. The security tag is a single piece security tag that comprises a tack housing and a tag housing connected by a beam. The beam is enabled to house one or more antenna elements that is electrically connected with one or more electronic components housed within the tag housing. Alternatively, one or more antenna elements can be housed within the tack housing, wherein engagement of the tack housing with the tag housing enables the one or more antenna elements to receive electrical signals from the one or more electronic components via a tack.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FOIL DETECTION USING MILLIMETER WAVE FOR RETAIL APPLICATIONS
In an aspect, the present disclosure includes a system for detecting metal foil using millimeter wave (mmWave) for retail applications. The system comprises one or more pedestals positioned to define an exit portal leading to a point of exit, one or more security tag readers, fixedly positioned with the one or more pedestals, configured to read data from a security tag passing through the exit portal and one or more mmWave receivers, fixedly positioned near the point of exit, configured to receive one or more reflected mmWave beams from metal foil, wherein the detection of metal foil results in an alert message.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INCREASED EXIT INTERROGATION OF RFID TAGS
In an aspect, the present disclosure includes a system for interrogating a person exiting a store. The system comprises one or more pedestals positioned to define an exit portal leading to a point of exit, one or more mmWave sensors, fixedly positioned near the point of exit, configured to receive one or more reflected mmWave beams from a person approaching the point of exit and triggering an interrogation of a security tag; and one or more security tag readers, fixedly positioned with the one or more pedestals, configured to read data from the security tag passing through the exit portal
Pedestal with embedded camera(s) for beam steering
Systems and methods for operating a pedestal of an Electronic Article Surveillance (“EAS”) system. The methods comprise: capturing at least one first image or video by a camera coupled to the pedestal; analyzing the at least one first image or video to detect a person's presence and determine the person's location relative to the camera; determining a first beam pointing direction for the pedestal based on results of the analysis of the at least one first image or video; and steering a read beam of the pedestal in accordance with the first beam pointing direction so that a main lobe of the pedestal's antenna field pattern covers a first area of an interrogation zone.
DUAL MODE EAS/RFID TAG BASED ON SELF TUNING RFID CHIP
A self-tuning RFID device having an input capacitance that is adjustable in response to a detected signal. The self-tuning RFID device preferably comprises a variable capacitance RFID chip coupled to an inductor, and an input circuit driven by the detected signal from the variable capacitance RFID chip. A change in capacitance with the detected signal is delayed by a specific amount of time, thereby allowing the self-tuning RFID device to function as a dual mode EAS and RFID tag. The ESA functionality can be deactivated by a high field at or near its resonance frequency without disabling the RFID functionality. The effect of the high field may change the input capacitance permanently changing its resonance.
TAMPER DETECTION DEVICE, SYSTEM, AND METHOD
It is described a tamper detection device for detecting tampering with respect to a packaging, the device comprising: i) a first electrode comprising a first patterned structure, and ii) a second electrode comprising a second patterned structure. The first electrode and the second electrode are arranged so that the first patterned structure and the second patterned structure are at least partially opposite to each other. In a first arrangement state of the first patterned structure and the second patterned structure with respect to each other, a first capacitance is measurable, in a second arrangement state of the first patterned structure and the second patterned structure with respect to each other, a second capacitance is measurable, wherein the first capacitance is different from the second capacitance, and wherein the first arrangement state is different from the second arrangement state. The device further comprising: iii) a detection unit, wherein the detection unit is configured to: a) measure the capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode, b) obtain, based on the measured capacitance, an information indicative of the arrangement state, and c) evaluate, based on the information indicative of the arrangement state, if a tampering with respect to the packaging is detected.
SECURITY TAG FOR TEXTILES USING CONDUCTIVE THREAD
Electronic article surveillance (EAS) in which an EAS-enabled item includes a textile element and an EAS element. The EAS element includes an antenna subsystem and EAS electronic. The antenna subsystem is integrated into the textile element, where integrated connotes a manner of incorporation that would require damage to the item to remove by typical methods. The EAS electronics are in conductive communication with the antenna subsystem.
FOREIGN RFID TAG DISCRIMINATION AND MANAGEMENT
Managing foreign RFID tags within a secured area involves use of a first RFID portal system to read tag data from an RFID tag present within a first portal zone. A processing device associated with the first RFID portal system is used to determine whether the RFID tag is entering the secured area. The determination is based on an evaluation of a direction of travel of the RFID tag through the first portal zone. Responsive to determining that the RFID tag is in fact entering the secured area, one or more operations are performed to cause a first tag value corresponding to the tag data to be added into a safe to exit (STE) list.
SECURITY TAG AND BASE STATION FOR DISPLAY
A wireless, proximity-based security system for securing or tracking a valuable object. The system includes a base station and a plurality of security fobs. The security fobs are tracked via an ultra-wideband transceiver relative to an outer perimeter. An administrator fob pairs each of the security fobs with the base station. An audible alarm emits from base and/or the fobs when the location of the security fob is detected to be beyond the outer perimeter. A haptic alarm emits from fob when the location of the security fob is detected to be beyond a sub-perimeter.
Durable Asset Management Tag
A tracking system (20) for durable assets such as personal weapons (22) is provided. The tracking system (20) includes a durable asset tag (84) including an RFID transponder physically mounted within an externally exposed cavity of the durable asset (22), and an identification card (32) with a machine-readable unique identifier associated with a person. The system also includes first (40) and second (48) databases, each storing information associated with the durable asset (22), and an interface terminal (56) for receiving a unique identifier from the durable asset tag (84) and the unique identifier from the identification card (32), and which communicates with the databases (40, 48) for checking in or checking out the durable asset (22) to the person having the identification card (32). The durable asset tag (84) may be original to the durable asset (22) or retrofitted thereto after manufacture. Multiple durable asset tags (84) may be associated with a durable asset (22) to provide increased range and reliability, and to reduce the likelihood of tampering.
