A method for selecting at least one connection pattern drivable by road users using a control device. Trajectory data are received from at least one area. On the basis of the received trajectory data, starting points and end points of drivable trajectories are determined. All the connection patterns between the starting points and the end points of the drivable trajectories are determined in the form of connecting lines. The determined connection patterns are filtered by at least one filter. Connection patterns remaining after filtering are compared with route profiles from the trajectory data. For each remaining connection pattern a number of route profiles which correspond to the connection pattern are counted. A connection pattern with the highest number of matching route profiles is selected. A control device, a computer program, and a machine-readable storage medium are also described.

The present disclosure relates to a method for the fully automated guidance of a motor vehicle by a vehicle system in a driving situation of at least one driving situation class, wherein the vehicle system has a control device and accesses position data of a position sensor. The method starts with providing a traffic rule database in which traffic rule sets for a plurality of geographic regions are stored in a machine-readable formal language and which can be accessed by the control device, and determining a geographical region currently traveled by the motor vehicle based on the current position data and retrieving a traffic rule set for the currently traveled geographical region from the traffic rule database via the control device. After or upon determination of a trajectory currently to be traveled by the control device, the vehicle system will verify the trajectory for compliance with traffic rules using the retrieved traffic rule set for the geographic region currently traveled by the control device, wherein the trajectory currently to be traveled is adjusted in the event of non-compliance, and guide the motor vehicle based on the trajectory currently to be traveled.

In an aspect, a computer-implemented method includes receiving, from a vehicle, navigation information associated with the vehicle; determining one or more predicted positions associated with the vehicle based on the navigation information; determining one or more candidate map regions associated with the vehicle based on the one or more predicted positions; associating corresponding speed limit information with each of the one or more candidate map regions; and transmitting, to the vehicle, the one or more candidate map regions; wherein the one or more candidate map regions are usable by the vehicle to provide speed limit information to a driver of the vehicle.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COORDINATING MULTIPLE COOPERATIVE VEHICLE TRAJECTORIES ON SHARED ROAD NETWORKS

A vehicle coordination system is provided for coordinating the trajectories of vehicles on a road network. The vehicle coordination system comprises a plurality of vehicles each having respective vehicle position tracking assemblies that are in communication with respective vehicle communication systems for transmitting vehicle state messages including positions of the vehicles. A task assignment allocator is provided that is arranged to generate task assignments for each of the plurality of vehicles, including destinations in the road network for the vehicles. A vehicle coordination assembly is in communication with the vehicle communication systems via a data network for receiving the vehicle state messages. The vehicle coordination assembly is configured to determine respective paths for each vehicle to arrive at their respective destinations and determine trajectory control commands for each vehicle to traverse their respective paths whilst optimizing a predetermined objective and avoiding active interactions of two or more of the vehicles occurring in any shared areas of the paths. The vehicle coordination assembly is configured to transmit the trajectory control commands to each vehicle. The predetermined objective may be an aggregate traversal time for the vehicles.

Policies may be enforced by transmitting control signals fully or in part to onboard vehicle computers or to a teleoperation support module providing remote support to the vehicles using human teleoperators and/or artificial intelligence agents. The control signals may directly control the vehicles or teleoperation, or may cause a navigation system to present known restrictions in a suitable fashion such as generating an augmented reality display or mapping overlays.
