Facilitating navigation data updates

A method, system, and medium are provided for facilitating navigation data updates. One embodiment of the method includes receiving an indication that a navigation route is unavailable. The indication that the navigation route is unavailable is provided by a user of a mobile device. A notification of the unavailable navigation route is communicated to a navigation server. The unavailable navigation route is excluded in subsequently provided navigation routes.

Electronic device and operation method thereof

The present disclosure provides an electronic device and operating method of the electronic device reflecting real traffic situation more precisely, by navigating a path in consideration of both real-time traffic information and statistical traffic information.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MAP QUERY AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE

A method for map query includes the following. A map query request and a current location of a terminal device are obtained. A map area to be displayed and a query object to be highlighted in the map area are obtained based on the map query request and the current location. A display icon corresponding to the query object is generated. A radar chart of the map area is drawn based on the current location, and the location where the query object is located is marked with the display icon.

LOITERING MODE FOR RIDER PICKUPS WITH AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES

The technology involves pickups of riders by autonomous vehicles in a manner that ensures the rider is picked up within an estimated time of arrival (ETA). For instance, in accordance with customer authorization, the autonomous vehicle may loiter or otherwise stay within a certain proximity (e.g., distance or time) to guarantee rider pickup within a predetermined time. One vehicle may be assigned to a rider for a set timeframe or multiple vehicles may be allocated to a particular event. Either approach may be used to ensure rider pickup with minimal waiting. One benefit is to avoid user-initiated ride requests when the customer is ready to depart a location, because a vehicle will already be present and ready to take the rider to their desired destination. Loitering may include prepositioning a vehicle at a given place, or driving autonomously to be nearby as needed.

Caravan management

Methods, computer-readable media, software, and apparatuses provide a system for forming and managing a caravan of vehicles. The system may include computing devices in a plurality of vehicles belonging to a caravan. The computing devices participating in the caravan may communicate various information to each other. This information may be used to generate and manage a route for the caravan. The system may also be used to select a leader and/or order of the caravan for a particular trip. During the trip, the system may monitor the caravan and analyze inputs from participants and vehicles. Further, the system may modify the route based on such inputs and distribute the modified route to participating computing devices so that the caravan may be maintained.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR IDENTIFYING NAVIGABLE ELEMENTS AFFECTED BY WEATHER CONDITIONS

Live vehicle probe data is obtained relating to the movement of vehicles with respect to time along a navigable element. The probe data is used to determine a current speed of travel along the navigable element, which is compared to the free flow speed of travel for the navigable element. When the current speed of travel along the element is reduced relative to the free flow speed for the navigable element by less than a threshold associated with identifying a congestion event, and obtained weather data indicates the navigable element is affected by one or more adverse weather conditions, then a weather event is generated. If the reduction in speed of travel is of a size sufficient to trigger the generation of a congestion event, and obtained weather data again indicates the navigable element is affected by one or more adverse weather conditions, then one or more attributes of the congestion event can be used to determine if the cause of the congestion can be attributed to the adverse weather.

A navigation device and a method of determining parking information are disclosed. In at least one embodiment, the method includes receiving, at a server, journey information from a plurality of navigation devices, the journey information indicating one or more journeys made by each navigation device and determining, by the server from the journey information, parking information indicating a geographical location of one or more parking areas.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF CONTROLLING DIGITAL SIGNAGE FOR DIRECTING PARKING TRAFFIC

A system including: a parking lot having a plurality of parking spaces; at least one device positioned in the parking lot to identify occupancy statuses of the parking spaces; a plurality of display devices positioned next to and facing the parking spaces respectively; and a server computer storing parking space reservations that include identification information of vehicles for which the reservations are made. The server computer is further configured to generate and present navigational guidance on the display devices based on identification information of vehicles in the vicinity of the parking spaces and reservations.

Communication terminal, movement guidance system, and non-transitory computer-readable recording medium storing computer program

Movement guidance information for performing traveling guidance for a vehicle is requested to a guidance information delivering server device based on an area update table and an area identification table for managing an update state of map information in a communication terminal, and traveling guidance for the vehicle is performed based on the movement guidance information delivered from the guidance information delivering server device in response to the request.

Apparatus for guiding route of vehicle based on mobile terminal, system including the same, and method thereof

A system for guiding a route of a vehicle includes a vehicle terminal, a mobile terminal, and a telematics multimedia system (TMS) server, and the vehicle terminal includes a first processor configured to synchronize route information discovered and generated by the mobile terminal, search for a route to a destination based on traffic information, and determine an optimum route by comparing the searched route and the route information discovered by and received from the mobile terminal.
